so, Richie (my StepFather) is on the phone with the parent of a failed student (he teaches Music at Post)...and the student called before..threatening to put Richie 'on the carpet' if he didn't pass. The kid missed 13 classes, and didn't hand in 3 take home tests....then got a 52 on the final and wanted to pass....this is his 2nd time failing the same course...and now, his parents are suing the school. what a world.
I have NEVER- when I was in college and I screwed up this bad I wouldn't have my parents SUE THE COLLEGE!@!!!!

But going back to the original point of this thread-
What kind of message does this send to this 'adult' when he enters the working world- um let's see you don't like your review and your raise- well then sue your boss and the company you work for! unreal. I feel bad for this kid because he obviously is in for a very rude awakening.
I am sorry that your Step-father is going through this.

Please- and the scary part is it isn't the first time this happens. And it's pathetic because it's a core class- if they don't pass there is no way they can do ANYTHING within their major.

Suing the school is pretty ridiculous in itself... but I can't get past the PARENT calling on behalf of their son/daughter! GROW UP you are in COLLEGE! Whats next? calling his/her future boss.. 'Yeah Hello, I really think you should've given my Billy that raise and promotion!'

I can't believe people. Do they care about their kids at all? What ever happened to earning your grades? These are the people who will inherit the earth.
And the lawyer who takes that case should be disbarred for contributing to stupidity.

Re: This is unreal.. my Mother writes
this happens so many times- the parents calling the house- my parents would NEVER call my professor's house... not to mention that my stepfather is a highly regarded jazz musician in the community- so it's not like he's a bad teacher or doesn't know his stuff.. but he is hard- but if you want to be a music major, you sort of HAVE to pass music theory, you know?
