This was SOO common when I was in high school, and I'm sure its only worse now.
I went to a Catholic all-girls HS in Westchester County, and everyone was spoiled rotten who went there. ALL THESE GIRLS got brand new cars as 'gifts' when they turned 16 .. Jags, SUVs, Mercedes, etc. It was no big deal whatsoever. It seemed normal amongst that crowd.
Me, well i drove an old Honda Civic .. I was the 'poor girl' in that school

I don't know, but I have to say that I've seen PLENTY of young people on LI driving luxury cars, whether it's a BMW, Mercedes, or even a Porche. Not to sound like an old fogie (especially when I'm only 24), but it wasn't like this when I was in high school and I grew up in a pretty affluent area. It was rare that someone got a new car and even more rare that it was a high priced car. The same thing with handbags--none of us were sporting $600 Louis Vuitton bags at 15.
TRUE...Now you go to an elementery school and see these little kids with prada pocketbooks...i hope they are fakes!
The kids on LI have nicer cars and jewelry than moi. I saw that kid driving the porsche 4x4, he cut me off! And the Louis clutches, forget it!
