This may sound so odd but is this possible??

OK...I have no idea if something like this can be done so if I sound retarted in asking I am so very sorry.

My family and I have already been discussing ways to remember my mothers fiance who passed away this past April for Christmas. I was thinking of having and oil painting done of her and him together since they dont have anything like that. But then she keeps saying how she wished she had a picture of him in his military uniform..he was a sergeant in the army who was awarded with a purple heart. He had no pics of himself in his uniform and any that he did, perished in a fire.

I was wondering..does anyone know if a painter, artist or even photographer can paint him in his sergeants uniform. You know how they do the wedding pictures of you as a child..you are obviously not wearing a wedding gown..do you think this is possible?

I would love to CREATE this for her and I know it would bring her so much happiness but I think I may be way off about it.

Have you checked with everyone in his family to make sure no one has a pic? You may also want to try and get in touch with the army. They usually have some type of pic of all soldiers. Its worth a try.

How would I get in touch with the army??

The fire that I was talking about was actually at the army base or whatever you want to call it when he was in vietnam..so everything burnt up but if its worth a try, I will call.
