what do you call your in laws now that you are getting married? I have been calling them by their last name from the first time we met and as the years have gone by I then cut it down to the first letter of their last name. Mr. & Mrs. B. I just don't feel comfortable calling them by their first name. My FH said just call them mom and dad because that is what I am going to call your father after we say our I do's. He is just too sweet (FYI - my mother is no longer in the picture and we have not spoken to one another in years. Loooonggggg story) You have to call them something right? lol

I'm so awkward when it comes to this. When I first met them I would call them Mr. & Mrs ---, once we got engaged I continued to call them Mr. & Mrs. until FH's dad yelled at me and said 'what am I an old man- don't call me that!'....so now I just wait for them to look at me lol.
I personally will not call them mom and dad because they aren't my parents. Like some other ladies who posted- I will refer to them as 'grandma and grandpa' when we have kids but until then I'm going to have to figure something out lol

I am so glad it is not just me. I remember one time I called FFIL 'Pops' and my FH was there and said that his dad had a smile on his face. I spoke with my FSIL and she said, 'I just call them by their first name' and I just can't do it. I am very close with my FMIL and don't know how she would feel of being called mom by me. It's just weird. I asked one of my friends who got married not to long ago and she does not call her MIL anything. She always says, 'Hi! How are you?' lol
There was an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond like this... Ray could NOT call his MIL mom... or her name, always said hey you .. very funny...

So funny because we were talking about this last night with my mother in law. I straight up asked her because I told her I can't keep calling her mrs. Forever. She said mom or her first name would work but calling her by her first name would be weird to me so I think im gonna go with Mom!

I just feel so weird calling them by their first name. My FH is going to call my father 'dad' and he has no problem with it. Lol Figures
