this probably is unusual but...

I am not looking forward to my bridal shower. From the day my mom started to plan one for me I had this knot in my stomach and felt like it wasn't a good idea. I think it's because my friends aren't the ones planning it so I feel like it's gonna resemble more of a boring slow paced ladies luncheon rather than a young girls bridal shower. It's coming in 3 weeks and I'm starting to feel like it's going to be one big embarrassment. Oh, and since lots of my friends live a good distance away, only 2 of them will be there. Alright, vent over.

I have the same fear. My mom is in charge of basically everything. My friends all live nearby, and I know one of my MOH has been at my parent's house more than I have.

I guess it will be fun, but I know there will be a lot of people I've met once or never there. It should be interesting.

I'm sure you'll be fine. You can have fun with the old ladies!

You can have fun any where!
Remember this is a celebration for you! You should be excited about that. Just because a brunch is planned doesnt mean it has to be boring! You will have a great time. If you are having fun, so will everyone else!

It will be great...your friends and people who care about you will be there. I never really wanted one either, but all of my friends who've been though it say they always had a blast at their showers.

At least your mom is willing to do it for you...you could have a mother that doesn't participate at all! I'm sure it will be nice whatever they do.

I'm lucky to have my mom and my sister planning mine!

i think if you go to your shower with a different outlook you will be able to enjoy yourself more! maybe it is just nerves I am sure it will be such a nice event

thanks for all the positive comments..... and I don't mean to sound annoying but I just can't find it in me to be excited about it I barely talk to or see my MOH because we are both so busy so I know she isn't involved AT ALL in the planning... so I just hope it's fun and at that's about it. I have absolutely no expectations.
