hang in there. we got so fed up we actually STOPPED looking. a week later the realtor called with 'our' house. we were the first to look at it and the the first and only to make an offer!
What towns are you looking for?
I dont know what areas you are looking at, but what about adding to the towns you are looking in. Also, houses that need work are more affordable. My friend told me to look for the worst house on the best block and I did just that, and thank g-d it worked out. I wish you luck.
We looked for months back in the summer and then decided to take a break. We found our house on our first day out again. Hang in there, you'll find one. You may want to take a little break and clear your mind of all of it.
I know that many people don't like to do this but you can look at a foreclosure list. Then you can try to call the people on the list and offer them so money for the house before they are foreclosed on. Also you can look up the houses online and then go to the steps and try to put a bid on it. There are a lot of people that go to the steps and buy houses but you have to have I think it's 10% in cash with you. Don't know if it's an option for you :)
