u can still look for more places, but if u like this one, keep it in ur top 3 list. I think the fee depends on how many people u'll bring, I'll be bringing my photographer, videographer, BP (12 people) FH and I, shoot them an email tomorrow so they can give u a quote

what you need to do is really think about what is important to you and what you want most

it seems like you want EVERYTHING right now

no seeing FH
full hour long ceremony
be at your CH
have wedding end early on sunday so everyone stays

you have to compromise somewhere bc unfortunately you dont have much to wiggle with

first, talk to your church and ask them if you can have ceremony at 2 that would help out a lot!!!!! tell them how stressed and sad you are and that you are trying to stick to tradition

that would be the VERY first thing Id do if I were you

NEXT, for the sake of your stress and sanity, I would pay for OWG! Im taking pics there, I believe it is 250 because you would be taking them before 5 pm, that's what Im doing, the earlier you take the pics there, the cheaper it is

this has really been stressing you, its hard to find good photo ops which is why i just ****** it up and paid for OWG too

V take a deep breath and then let it out.

Take a step back and figure out what you really want first. I would skip the receiving line at the church and don't take that many pictures outside the church. (My church doesn't let you take pictures inside because of the next wedding that happens after mine.)

I say skip the receiving line because of this:
My photographer said all the people that go to church are going to be at your reception. So at the reception when you are walking around to every table, you will be thanking them for coming. That gives you an extra 30 minutes.

Also, make the CH for 6. That way you get even more time.

For the place for pictures, do you really need a place with water? Think about it and figure out if you really do need water. If you do, then take pictures at one of those places the girls recommended.

I've found that wedding planning can be stressful. People will always speak their opinions. You need to learn to ignore them and do what you feel is right. Don't think about people leaving early. Yes, people do leave early and right after cake especially on a Sunday. However, I went to a wedding on a Sunday and only a handful left. We were there until the end dancing.

At the end of the day, its only you and your FH. Maybe you should take some time away from this issue and just relax.

I'm staying at the Marriot as well. Its much cheaper than Garden City and the staff is much nicer. I had a similar struggle trying to decide where we were going to take pictures and one suggestion I can make is to look into Nassau Museum of Art. There is a fee but its beautiful and we have the whole space for 2 hours.

I'm not sure how far your church is from your reception hall but definitely check out some locations in the north shore like Sands Point Preserve (http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/agencies/Parks/WhereToGo/preserves/north_shore_preserve/Sands_Pt_Preserve.html). I believe its free to take pictures here!

And remember at the end of the day, there will be hundreds and hundreds of pictures of you and FH so even if you cant get the 'perfect location' for your pictures, your pictures will turn out beautiful anyway! And take some deep breathes and no more stressing out!!! :):)

I am actually calling them today during lunch, ill FM you later with how much the suite is etc. and any extra info she might tell me :):)You need the room for 9/23 and 9/24 right?

our church mass will be at 2pm. it is a full mass.
by the time it will be over it will be 3pm. by the time we finish with the receiving line (which, i have to agree with your FMIL, is tradition and is expected) and taking pictures at the church it will be 4pm.
our CH begins at 5pm and it will be 1½ hours long. We do not plan on going to our CH. Our Reception begins at 6:30pm. we plan on having more than enough time during that time to take pictures at our designated area, which is nearby the RH and then going to our RH and taking picutres in their outside area as well (which we will have the RH close off for a few minutes so no one sees us taking pictures)

i'm sure you will find something close by to take pictures and where you will be able to go to at least a portion of your CH.

Can you go to Rosyln Duck pond to take pictures? It shouldnt be that far out of the way.

What about a park in Valley Stream? That might be a little closer too...

Could you drive to Long Beach and take pictures on the boardwalk?

it's under 10 mnutes from Ariana and there' is a \pond, a little bridge, a gazebo and greenery
