So I was going to book today with Garden City Hotel (To stay there the day before the day of)
Well we wanted to verify if we can take Wedding pics there since Ill staying there 'No, If you dont have your wedding here with Us you cant take Any picture here'
I was Mad & Sad.....
Now I am back WITH no Place to stay... With no place to take pics because iam SOOO STUPID!!!!!!!
Why did I choose a SUNDAY Wedding?!!!
I will NOT have eough tme to take pics where I want bc I am having a FULL mass & Mass starts at 2:30... I should b out by 3:30... Pics at church & pics in another place wilbe around 6:00... We wanted to enjoy Cocktail hr... If we do that, apparently We will be late to our own Reception!!!!!!!!

ETA: BETTER EXPLANATION I guess...
So this what We want.... It sounds crazy n I guess this is why this is why I a strugglin so much... A place with like Flowers... Green... but water.. Like a little Lake...
And No, Sorry, We cant take pics before the Ceremony... Unless there is a Extremly Emergency (God forbids) We will NOT see each other.
I want to move CH to 6:00pm... So i am debating still... This will give me MORE time so We can take our pics
UPDATE: Now I am MORE Sad than Before....
I was talking to my FMIL and I told her how we were thinking of Not having a receiving line this way we can 'take advantage' of those xtra minutes & use them in the Wed Pics... Her response was 'WHAT? You are NOT having a receiving line? Are you guys ok? YOU have to do it! If U dont do it ppl will Get mad. This is the tradition & You have to do it'
Then I was talkign to my mom and told her I may move the Reception 6:00-11:00 and Cute the cake late around 10:00pm bc I dont want ppl to leave early.... her response was:'What? Ur doing Ur cake cutting around 10:00pm? No Verito (das my nick name here) That is too late. People have to work on Monday morning. People will be leavin earlier than that. You hve to cut your cake earlier so people can taste it before they leave.
I am so mad at both of them!!!! I was trying to save soem time for OUR EFFIN WEDDING PICS and FMIL is mad bc We are thinkin of not doing receiving line... and We trying to get MORE timeby moving the CH 30min later... and My mom is mad bc I want to cut the cake at 10:00 So ppl at lteast stay until 10:15-10:30 and She said ppl Will leave EARLIER than that since ppl work in the mornin...
I am leaving the house NOW
I feel SOOO mad... I am just going outside.... TO CRY....
I so dont want to do this anymore...
I going to call my FH and tell him I dont want to do it and i just want to get married wiht him in a Church and Das it... I already paid 60% of RH but I dunno what to do anymore...

You can't take pics at the hotel? Or that park across the street w the gazebo? I think it's free to take pics there, n they are pretty my friend got married at lark field n stayed at a hotel out there n took pics at that little park.
The pics at that gazebo look great! they always have it kept so nice with lots of flowers
You can definitely take pictures at that little area on Stewart Avenue right across from the hotel. They have a gazebo, nice landscaping, some bushes - FH's cousin took her pics there for her wedding. AND they can't tell you that you can't take pics in the room - you're paying for it!

I've noticed you've been freakng out very easily lately. Take a moment to breathe and calm down.
You can do pretty much whatever you want in your room so you can have your getting ready pics. You really should look into The Gazeebo down the block from the hotel, the grounds are beautiful and im more than sure theres no charge. Its Garden City, they keep everything fancy and neat. My sister did her outside pics for her wedding there last September and I cant tell you how stunning the pictures were.
Stop freaking out! Your wedding will be gorgeous, you'll have beautiful pictures and your guests will stay. I have a Sunday wedding and my ceremony doesn't start even start until 630 and i'm absolutely calm about it. People come to have a great time at weddings, and you're not gonna have a great day if you keep stressing about every little thing. CALM DOWN. Relax, take a breather, get a massage, mani and pedi, Things will work out in the end.
So Do u think I should be 'Fck it' and Move my CH at 6:00 because at the end of the day the ppl who love us will be there with us?... I know its about me & Luis... I knwo that... But sometimes i think what if Luis n I are working our butts off and then ppl leave at 9:00pm?...
Sometimes i think and I want to call my Rh and b like 'MOVE MY CH'...

okie if I was in ur shoes I'd change my CH at 6pm (tha's still early) so that would give me 2 1/2 hrs for pics, check out Hempstead Castle (I don't think they charge u anything for taking pics there) I've seen 2 brides taking their pics in there and seriously they came out BEAUTIFUL! here are the links for those brides:
You think moving Ch at 6:00 stills fine??... So CH 6-7, Reception 7-11?

What about that park in Roslyn down in the village?? It's so big and has a gorgeous pond. It seems very local so I doubt there's a fee. It's one of my favorite places to hang out.

Hang in there Veronica. This is the 'unfun' side of wedding planning (trying to nail down schedule and details)
There is a beautiful gazebo at the Garden City Train Station right across the street from the Garden City Hotel. Talk to your photographer about taking pics there.
You can take pics in your room and then leave the hotel and take them there!

I think my hotel has an outside area- residence Inn mariott not sure if thats to far from u but maybe they allow pics there??

also, i dont know how your guests are but Ive been to 2 sunday weddings and we stayed late like after 1230 do not remember the exact time that we left. and I am having a sunday wedding and im not doing cake cutting until like 11pm if people dont want to stay they dont have to but im not cutting my cake any earlier than 11. our reception ends at 1am.

dont worry V!! it will work out!! , the gazebo in garden city is beautiful!! my sister and cousin both had their pictures there and they came out really pretty!! PLUS its FREE and close to your RH and church! i think you will love it!! we might take ours there....dont worry it will work out! we will help you!! dont freak out!!

I just checked out the map on Google. There is a lake VERY close to your RH, maybe you can try to work with that? It's in Hempstead Park ... I hope this helps ...

There is a mass ending around 1:15-1:30... I think....
Ceremony is out at 3:30... I think it can take around 30-45 mins to take pics in Church Right?... Im taking a wild guess.... So we should be 'done' around 4:00-4:15...
I wish i would have been so 'kind' to ppl while I decided on the date I wanted to make it sunday Since MORE ppl are OFF on Sunday this way everyone could come...
Now I am screw in everyway sort of speak!...
I will mov the CH to 6:00pm though....

I just thought of another solution, how about u get ready at a different hotel (less expensive) and use the money u're gonna save (from not booking with GC Hotel) to pay for Old Westbury Gardens. They have mansions, gardens, and small sort-of lakes.

yeap! it's called East Lake (by this lake they also have what they call temple of love) also the boxwood garden and 2 ponds, the name is west pond and lotus pond. Take a look at their pics
