so as part of my VERY religious Jewish ceremony I have to do a talk with a religious woman. She will walk me thru the duties of a Jewish woman before and I guess after the wedding
So I called her now and finally set an aptmnt. The conversation started very awkward cause I can't pronounce my Rabbi's name well, and then she explained to me what we will be talking about
Can someone remind me why I wanted a VERY religious ceremony???? I am so nervous!
oh AND she said that a month to my wedding may not be enough and we will have to move fast what does THAT mean??????
I am seriously scared out of my mind!

one of my mom's friends gave me a book on all the things a (religous) Jewish woman is supposed to do during the engagement and wedding ... it's full of a ton of ridiculous things.
things like you can't see each other for a week before the ceremony, you have to go to the mikveh a day before the wedding, etc
i skimmed through it and A LOT ... i will try to find it tonight and share more of the 'knowledge' in it.

i'm doing the mikveh also ... it should be interesting, to say the least just nod and smile regarding the rest of the stuff ... you don't HAVE to do anything you don't want to

mikveh is a bath that the Jewish woman takes to be clean and pure I guess. religious women do it once a month I guess after their period's so they can be intimate with their husbands non religious ppl do it before the wedding

Interesting! You take the bath at a temple? Or it's something you do at home?
