This week just keeps getting worse

I just had a parent meeting today. It did not go well. The administration/district supports 100% because they know that the parent is crazy. However, it did not help that the woman threatened my job, threatened to call Newsday and News 12, and basically tried to make me out to be a liar.

So, I ended the meeting (after the parent left) in tears. It hurt me so much that a person would say I'm never there for her child when 3 out of 5 days a week (sometimes more) I'm here till 5PM (or later) working on lessons and doing extra help for my students. I check my work e-mail until 9PM every night and on vacations and weekends, just in case my students or parents needed to reach me. What more can I do?

I'm just so frustrated with this parent. She ruined my entire week.

I need a drink.

parents are hard to deal with because they dont want to blame themselves so you are unfortunately the only logical choice!!!!

sorry she ruined your week, try to relax and think about all the good you do and all the parents that are happy with your work, you cant please everyone, even though we want to.....

It's incredible how parents don't want to take responsibility and rather blame everyone and everything but themselves or their child. Teacher's are NOT there to raise your children. Education begins at home...I'm a firm believer of that.

Awh, I'm so sorry. That so not fair for them to blame you. It sounds like you are a very dedicated teacher. Don't let them get to you.
