This will make you LAUGH!
This afternoon, I tool Paul to BRU to shop some of the sales and pick up our stock of formula cases, bottle liners, and I picked out his crib bedding set finally. It's NOTHING like what I thought I wanted, but it has a little blue, a lot of sage green and a brighter green and some burgundy. (I'll post a pic after I tell my story!)
When we arrive at the store, I discover that in my frenzy to get out of the house, I LEFT MY COUPONS HOME!
(Anna's gonna love this story!) I was so
at myself!
I make my way to the customer service counter to ask if they have the promotional flyer in the store - they don't carry them. I consider leaving and then the salesperson says, 'Don't worry...if you bring the coupons back along w/your receipt from today's purchase, we will make the proper price adjustments.' Okay, so things were looking up!
I shopped for everything I needed and headed to check out. Paul was starting to whine, I assume b/c he was too warm in the store. *Insert Binky in mouth* Great, now he's fine. My turn to check out...I had 3 cases of formula, the bedding set and about two bags full of other items...basically, it was a lot - over $500 worth. She rings everything up...I'm staring at the line behind me. I get everything loaded back into the cart, and say to Paul, 'Okay, let's go!'
I walk two steps toward the door and when I get to about 2 ft. in front of the non-skid entrance rug, the saleswoman calls to me - 'Hey, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT!'
OMG! I started to walk away before I handed her my credit card! OMG! I was soooo embarrassed!
So, I zip back around and whip out my card....she scans it and says to me (no joke), 'You know, if you had gotten all the way to that carpet, you would be considered a thief!'
Complete disbelief on my face, I say, 'I'm really sorry...I lost my head for a second...I was so concerned about making sure I had everything and keeping my eye on the baby, etc.'
She responds, 'Yeah, well some people will do anything to get something for free.'
W T F?!!!? Now I am peeved that she is A) insinuating that I was intending to steal, and B) perpetuating my embarrassment in front of the rest of the line! So I say, 'Give me a break, do you really think I would have bothered to get on the checkout line if I was trying to steal??? It was an honest mistake, and if you think you have the right to say something like that to me, I'd like to speak to your manager!'
Then she decides it's time to kiss my a$$ and apologize.
I didn't pursue it, b/c there really was no point. But, can you imagine???!!?? The nerve! When I got home and told DH, he could not believe it. He was ready to go back to the store himself. LOL!
However, we are still laughing at me for starting to walk out w/o paying...it IS funny, you have to admit! LOL!
