And who am I to say anything, as I don't post that often (or maybe it's because I type too slow)...... But WHY do people spill their guts about every little problem/idiosyncracy/issue/fight they have with their FI on a public message board?!? And then get all pissy when people point that out? Don't these people reread their posts and realize how RIDICULOUS they look?
I love to come on here to get ideas, share good news, quell wedding jitters and get advice, - I really do feel a sense of community on here, but I would NEVER, EVER talk about the issues that FI and I may have (especially if we had fights over and over and over and over). I may FM people I feel close to, but to air the dirty laundry on a public board - NO WAY
Anyone else feel like about 'some' of the repeat offenders?
If this post offends people or if it causes drama, I will delete it - just let me know (FM)

it is just a general statement...some people just REALLY let you all in on their personal business...And i guess i too find myself saying WOW...
Some wil post over and over about themselves and what they are doing and yet NEVER really post on anyone elses threads...offering their ear...some advice or just a friggin HUG? BUT LOVE the responses they get after they post about their personal issues
IMO it is just self-absorbed attention seeking behavior

Okay, I'm guessing I'm not who you're talkign about because the only thing I really get down on DH for is the stoopid PLAYSTATION!
I do like to vent here every once in a while though, because it's great to hear that other people are in the same boat...but it's mostly about things like Why won't he do the laundry? or He's always late!
and not He chases me around the apartment with kitchen knives, but it's alright because he luuurves me!
I agree, the serious business should stay at home.

The thing that sort of blows my mind is when people answer a post, trying very hard to be sensitive, while offering constructive criticism and these posts are completely ignored. Meanwhile someone answers with 'I'm sorry' or and they are thanked profusely. It is just verification that the person wants attention, not a solution or helpful advice.
One of my regular sayings is 'It's OK to have unspoken thoughts...' and I would add 'even on a LIW board..'

don't these people realize that anyone can read any post on this website? don't most of our SO's, friends and families know we visit this website? it's very easy for anyone to click on 'chat' and read the numerous posts on this site. (that's how I started posting!) in addition, for those of you who have posted pics or have pics in your avatar, you can be easily identified by someone who knows you! these anonymous posts are really not so anonymous. i can't imagine what my SO would do if he found out an entire post was about our relationship. JMO

Maybe those people dont have anyone else to talk to? Maybe they live far from family and friends and dont have any one else?
But like I've said before, if certain posts offend, just skip 'em - don't read them and don't respond to them.
