Those living together...What are you registering for?

Those living together...What are you registering for?

We have been living together for almost 3 years and in that time we have acquired a lot of things on our own.

We definitely need some new things like pots and pans, bathroom towels, but I can't think of what else.
A lot of what we have is till good and we don't have the space to store things. I already have some family witht heir hands out for my old stuff.

I wish you could register for appliances or electronics. Can you?

So if you are living together, what are you registering for??????????

I am registering for things that we need again...plus things I would never buy myself - like the 200 dollar vase that I have been in love w/! Plus kitchenaid mixer - new sheets, stuff like that!

We registered for the good things that we need. When we first started living together, we didnt get a great set of pots and pans, we got things that were just ok. I had trouble though with registering b/c I felt guilty putting things on we didnt need, so I didn't. But then people told me that I didnt register for enough! Oh well, can't please everyone!!

we have lived together also for about 3 years, but it is definitely time for some new stuff. We have pretty much registered for everything since most of the stuff we have is stuff we got from our parents and friends to get us started years ago. Anything that we have that we bought that doesn't need to be replaced we aren't registering for.

I am not sure if we are going to register, we have everything that we need. However if I do decide to register it will be for matching towels and maybe nice dishes or some nice sheets, things that we have but could be replaced with new!

Re: Those living together...What are you registering for?

We registered at Amazon.com and Garnet Hill, as they seemed the best bets, although I've since heard some iffy stuff about Amazon's registry from someone who just did a baby registry there. But Amazon by far had the best prices on some of our items.

We've been living together for more than a year, and I lived on my own for years before that, so we have all the basics. But we've registered for upgrades on a lot of stuff. Such as, I've never had a good flatware pattern, so we picked out Reed & Barton's 'Siena,' which we think is great for both everyday and formal. And it's not terribly expensive--this is one of the reasons we went with Amazon, as their price for a place setting was nearly $10 less than Bed Bath and Beyond, and way less than Macy's. I have a great collection of both vintage and modern Fiesta as my everyday china, so we only added a few pieces of a gorgeous Wedgewood pattern to the registry for formal occasions--it's a pattern designed to go with white pieces, so even if we dont get very many, it's not an issue. My FH wanted good knives, which we don't have, so he chose them. I chose some bakingware that I don't have, such as a good springform pan, but I don't need all that much baking-wise. I have good pots and pans so we didn't bother with that. The only other thing I really want is the KitchenAid mixer. I've wanted one for years and years. If we don't get the one on the registry, I'm buying it with some wedding money! And then I put on a bunch of other things that would be nice to have, such as a nice OXO can opener, some upgrades on utensils, a cute bread bin, an expensive metal garbage can, some more everyday glasses so we'll have a matching set--even though we have plenty, they don't match.

I couldn't find any towels I liked on Amazon so I did the Garnet Hill regsitry. On there I picked out towels, a new bath mat, a really nice new blanket, and a couple of other things. I have lots of good bedding already, so that wasn't necessary.

And that's about it. I'm not expecting a shower, and to be honest, I'm not expecting too many gifts off the registry anyway. My FH says that his family gives money, and I suspect a lot of mine will as well. And that's OK, but I wanted people to have the option so we put together the registries. And I think they're good options for our guests, as they can buy as much or as little as they want. A few towels, or five place settings. One thing I've always heard it make sure there's cheaper options for guests, especially for showers, and I tried to do that.

I'm still having a hard time getting used to the idea that people will be giving us expensive presents anyway! We're not having this wedding for the presents, but to celebrate our marriage with the people closest to us. The whole present thing kinda blows my mind!

I know you can also register for your honeymoon. Some travel agencies do it and there is also a website, but I forgot the name.

We've been living together for over a year and also registered for new pots/pans/sheets/towels/etc. While we have a lot of what we need, it's not in the best condition so upgrades would be nice. If we get the stuff on our registry, I figure we'll donate old bedding and towels to an animal shelter, and the kitchen stuff to salvation army.

Same here- everything is hand-me-downs or cheap cr*ap

My vaccuum was about $25 and doesn't work so I'm always borrowing mom's, so I DEFINITELY need one of those!

Most of my dishes are over 25 years old....(my mom's originals..)

i'm really low on silverware...and have NO good knives.

And I've been using the same cheap bedding set for 2 years now...its threadbare.

its not that I can't go buy some of this stuff myself, but after we got engaged it just seemed like it would be dumb when I can wait for other people to buy it for me

Going to register with my MOH today!

We registered for a few things at BBB and Macy's ..... but we mostly registered at Lowe's. Our friends and family all know we want to renovate our house, so we put renovating type things on the registry!

FH moved into my house about 4 years ago, so i already had the basics...since it's been a few years and I've broken many glasses & dishes, we registered for things like:

1. new eveyday glasses
2. a Tassimo coffee maker to replace my crappy 4 cup Mr. Coffee
3. 2 sets of 4 clear coffee mugs to go with it
4. new everyday flatware
5. some better pots & pans
6. a nice mixer (we don't have one)
7. new everday dishes (no fine china..i have grandma's & we don't even have a table to dine at..haha)
8. new bath towels...and 2 sets of towels for guests
9. some nice picture frames for all those e-pics and wedding pics
10. a new vacuum cleaner
11. a great set of prep knives

either upgraded stuff we have but want newer of, or pricey things that people can chip in together for, that we'd never buy ourselves

We have lived together for 3 years. We have everything. So what i registered for is cool stuff I wanted but don't need at all. Like Dual coffee maker, New comforter, I even found a deviled egg tray that keeps them from stinking up the fridge. And yes you can put appliances and electronics on there. I put a video recorder on mine.
