do you miss 'home' ever? I am missing my home tonight. Mostly I think I miss my family. I get a little homesick from time to time. I miss the culture and the lifestyle sometimes. I love living here always did and always will but sometimes I just miss the home land.

Re: Those of you from another country
Dh is from Poland and I have asked him this and he said that he doesn't really miss the places, but he misses the people and the food.
I also teach ESL to adults from differnt countries and they tell me they miss their families all the time.

that is exactly how I feel, I miss my family, most of them live in Poland... but there is this sentiment for the place where you were born and it always stays in your heart....

I am assuming your full name is Agnieszka? My MIL's name, too. And DH's high school girl friend.

that is correct I remember when I first moved to the United States I hated that people couldnt pronounce my name and I was ashamed... but now I look at it as their problem not mine

DH goes through the same. He is Krzysztof and people butcher that name.
Another thing to miss about your country. People who speak your language and know how to pronounce your name.

DH's cousin's name I have almost mastered most of the traditional names. BIL is Maciej. Not hard to pronounce but doesn't look like it sounds to me.
