Thankfully we have the money for the reception already. We are thisclose to having the honeymoon paid for too. I got myself a second job just so I could actually buy breakfast and lunch at work though

We're OK....
1. We had a long engagement (2 years)so that gave us time to save.
2. I did have a second job (waitressing one night a week) for spending money because we saved over 60% of our paychecks every week for the 2 years

We have been paying little by little for over a year. We decided if we have to (and we probably will) we will take a loan on his annuity since we know we wont have to top 5000.00.

We definitely worry about how we're going to cover this wedding. We have half of what we need saved right now but with 14 months left we're on a tight budget. Every penny has been planned out and there's no room for anything more.

its funny...neither my fiance nor myself were really willing to budge on certain things such as: sat night wedding in PRIME TIME and where we are having it of course so i guess we will certainly be feeling a life change over the next year....but i know it will be worth it!

We dont know how we are paying for it either. FH worries about it everyday. I am trying to work more hours and so is he, but it is so much money. We bought a house last september so that is killing us also when it comes to saving.

We worry all the time!!
I was a stay at home mom up until a few weeks ago when I went back to work part time... he works overtime every chance he gets. Its really really really hard but we have done ok so far. We might fall a little short in the end but his parents have offered to lend the $$ and we can pay it back after the wedding

Honestly we are both so young and have alot on our plates and I am really proud of us for being able to do this on our own

It is on our minds constantly and is the source of all disagreements and stress in our lives.

We have been selling things on ebay and putting money in a wedding fund immediately after we get paid. There is a set amount that goes in each month - I try to treat it like a government issued bill so there are no excuses for not paying it!

We sometimes look at what we have and we honestly dont know how we are going to pull it off. I guess we are hoping a miracle will happen soon.

Funny, I was just having this discussion tonight. I actually went back to school to finish my degree a couple of years ago, and when we get married I will be smack in the middle of grad school (mind you, I am going for one of those degrees that requires students not to work full time---speech path). Our budget is so tight! It has been the cause of many breakdowns. I feel like I have cut out as much as I can, but it still feels like too much. Saving every penny though and hoping for the best. Much luck to you. Just know in your heart it will work out.

I just started teaching yoga before work. I love going, the studio will give me free classes plus pay me a little extra- I'm all excited about 100 a month
It will pay for my limo and dress!
I need to save $12000 by next July!

We constantly stress about the money, we are paying for the majority of it ourselves and we know our parents would help us if they could but they just don't have the money...We are both going to get second jobs soon, it's stressful but we know it will be worth it and we will be proud because we will have paid for most of it by ourselves

I am very proud of all of you.

We paid for alot ourselves with a little help from the parents. We shelled out about 11K of our own money..plus we have a 3 yr old. The $$ from our guests is what we have in savings right now.

Just try not to go into debt even after some of the gifts I am sur eyou will receive.

what scares me is the little things...we've budgeted for the dj and photographer, etc...

but what about the little things?

what about gift bags for the guests who are staying at the hotel....what about my shoes...

it's the little things that scare me! I think I need to put aside a budget for 'Miscellaneous'

I'm constantly recalculating to see how much we owe and how much we have in our accounts. We only have about 3 weeks left and soon our accounts will be empty, All of that saving.

As a Catholic school teacher who is in grad school and works the afterschool program to make a few extra dollars, I can sympathize with all of you.

I'm still in shock over this... but I managed to save $13,000 in 6 months!

Now, if only Fendi wouldn't come out with any more bags!

PS I'm guilty! I treated myself to a RT ticket to Greece in which I leave tomorrow for 6 weeks! (Don't worry, I also made a payment to my hall too!)
