Did you just go and look at houses or did you go speak to a morgage borcker first?
I want to start looking around but dont know if I find something first and then talk about morgages and such or vice versa

Re: those of you who have been house hunting...
we met with a mortgage broker first. (actually i am lying - we looked at a few places and relaized that you can buy a dump in queens for $500K - so we wanted to see how much $$$ a bank would lend us)
glad we did - fm me if you want info on my mortgage guy - he was awesome - answered every and any question we had and never made us feel novice or 'dumb'. he helped us figure out what we can afford and what we would be approved for and helped us to understand the process better.
also - you need your preapproval letter before you can bid on a house. or at least it makes the process move a little faster.
