So the wedding is in 38 days and its not happening....
How did you inform people?? Phone calls, letters, ect???
I would like to also include that I will be hosting a cocktail fundraiser and ask people to still join me on the date and time for this...how do I do this??
Thanks everyone!

You could create invitations. Nothing spectacular... something you can do yourself (or I can do for you--hehe)
Im sure there are plenty of gals here who would love to help. especially the newlyweds

Re: Those of you who have called off weddings....
My parents went to a called off wedding turned party and I think they were informed via in person and/or phone call!
Terrific thing you are doing!!!

Re: Those of you who have called off weddings....
I had a friend who called off his wedding and they sent out an announcement- sorta like an invitation but not as fancy. Since you are still holding an event- maybe make an invitation saying we regret to inform you that we will not be holding our wedding but would still like you to join us for a fundraiser... Something like that.

Maybe you can send out some kind of announcement or less formal invitation stating that we regret to inform you that we have called off the wedding, however, would you please join us for a fundraiser....

i think a simple invite with the infomation for the fundraiser on it will do good luck to you

Re: Those of you who have called off weddings....
I think it would be easier to do it with an announcement card, like an invite but just one card, not a folded invite ... if you know what I mean ... I can imagine it would be difficult for you to call up all of your guests and tell them it's off.

I called people, but since your are still having an event, make simple announcement cards.

Re: Those of you who have called off weddings....
Maybe do a 2 sided post card thing from Vistaprint...
This way you can say all you want to say on one side & on the other give all the info about the fund raiser!!!
VP is VERY in-expensive & their quality is wonderful!

You can also make postcards like that at usps.com and they even mail them out for you for a very reasonable price.

Re: Those of you who have called off weddings....
I was engaged prior and we called people when we called off the wedding...but since you are doing a fundraiser in lieu of the wedding, you can do a cute announcement via mail!
