Those that did a photo montage...

Those that did a photo montage...

Did you include photos of family members that had passed? Like, pictures of you as a kid with a grandparent who is now deceased? What was the family reaction? I am dealing with some family drama over this so I wanted to see your experience if anyone can share.

I didn't do a montage, but I would've definitely included family members who passed away. Actually, we did photos of us at each age for the table numbers and one of my photos was me and my grandmother who passed away.

ETA: Who is being a Cynthia? You need me to bust skulls?

HAHAHAHAHA @ cynthia. You are too funny.

Actually, it's not even like it's her fault... my mom doesn't want any pictures of my grandma in it because it will make her sad. Meanwhile the whole reason I wanted the montage in the first place was to be able to include her. So now we're going back and forth on what to do.

I died laughing when I read it on Saturday!

Awww that s*cks. I can understand her side of it, but on the other hand you at least get to share a beautiful memory of her. I bet your grandmother would want to be in the montage. But, I'm sure you also don't want to upset your mom at the wedding and respect her wishes. Tough call. I still feel like you'd be... hmmm, how do I word it, not dishonoring your grandmother by not including her but you can't just forget her because it makes you sad to remember!

I can understand both sides but I think it's important to let your mom know how much you loved your grandmother and that it's important for you to include a few pictures of her since she was also part of your life.
just get ready to hear, 'Don't you love me enough to respect how I'm feeling.'

Gotta love the guilt mom's give.

We got in an all out fight about it the other night but then when we were looking at the pictures she started crying.

... I may have to let her have this one. It's not worth my mom getting all upset, so we'll see. Her argument is that it's too recent and raw since she just died a month and a half ago. It will be like 2 months since she died at the wedding.

I still haven't decided, but the problem is my FH wants to put pics of him and his grandparents and then it will look stupid if I have none with mine, although people will understand. We'll see...

I actually was just organizing all my photo's for this lol. My cousin passed away a few years ago and I am definitely putting a few pics of him and I on there from when we were younger. Honestly, my family definitely wouldn't mind this at all and if for some reason they did I wouldn't give a sh!t anyway because he's was like a bro to me and it upsets me like you can't imagine that he won't be there watching me walk down the aisle. I feel like I need to do this to include him in my day

I just read this after I posted mine. I can totally understand where your mom is coming from because it is sooo recent. It's like her wounds having had a chance to heal yet. I takes years to become strong after someone so close to you has past. I know in my own experience if someone even mentioned my cousins name 2 months after he past I was a total wreck so I could totally see her side.

I'm doing a montage for the express purpose of honoring all of mine and FH's grandparents since they have all passed. I think it's nice.

Aaaaah, ETA I just saw the comment you left about how recent it was. Tough call. Maybe you can just do a couple of her toward the beginning so it doesn't leave mom quite so raw?

Hmm.. I have to say I am with your mom on this one only because seeing old pics just makes me emotional.

That being said, I totally see your point also. It is a nice way to include your gma.

my grandmother passed away 8 months ago and i included pics of me and her in mine.. we were all so very close to her.. she was our rock and everyone took her passing hard... everyone gets emotional when we look at pics of her.. some more than others.. but it's a nice way of 'having her there with you' in my opinion... i dont recall anyone not being able to handle seeing the pics of her @ my reception

i also had a memorial candle table .. wore my grandmothers wedding band and diamond earrings.. and had a pic of her on my bouquet
