Those who booked a DOC

Those who booked a DOC

How can I convince my mother I need one?

I am overwhelmed at the thought of all the stuff to do and I need one but I have to convince my parents first.

Re: Those who booked a DOC

On the wedding day a bride wants to be calm and not have to worry.

A DOC will help if there are any problems, like a late vendor, wrong flowers, making sure everyone gets there on time, keeping schedules on track, and acting as a buffer for anything that comes along.

To make your wedding day as stress free as possible, they should consider a DOC to act as the manager of the event, overseeing everything and making sure NOTHING bad reaches the bride.

(dunno if that will work)

I didn't have to convince my mother-she was all for it. I don't want anyone in my family or BP to be bothered with questions on the Day of. I want someone else to have to deal with everything for me

i was under the impression that the matrid took care of this kind of stuff. as far as the RH goes.

sorry to say but i think a DOC is a waste of money & you could really use that money some place else.

my plan is to make sure my MOH has all the important phone number that day & she will be in charge of answering my cell phone.

I havent the slighest clue what a DOC cost...and hadnt considered one until reading these posts. If they arent overly expensive...it could be a good idea. Do you really want to bog down the BP with these issues? I know it's technically their job...but i wouldnt want to stress them out on a day that is supposed to be fun for everyone. But I have no clue...maybe it's not too much to ask. : )

The average price I've been seeing is around $500 all the way up to $1500. The one person I really like is $500 so I don't think it would be a waste of money.

Thanks Janna, that is a good way of putting it to my mother!

i didn't realize that it would only cost $500. in that case if you feel like it would make you more relaxed then just be honest with your parents. tell them how the person will be helping to make everyones day less stressful.

I know that booking the DOC gives me a great piece of mind knowing that there will be someone there making sure everything is running on schedule and checking to make sure everything is perfect, it won't have to be myself or my MOH running around worrying about everything.

I hired a DOC. Like teri said, I don't want no one in my family or none of my friends to be bothered with any problems that may arise on the day of. I understand that the maitre'd is supposed to handle certain things, but I just don't trust a maitre'd with all my two years of details and hard work. With a DOC, they sit down with you and your vision becomes theirs. I get to call and email my DOC at any time even though her services are typically for 'month of.' I feel confident in knowing that she knows my personality and will see to it that everything I want get executed. I also benefit from having one because she gets special discounts on things like favors and stuff. Ultimately it's a personal desicion and I'm not saying it's a must have for everyone, but for me it is.

ETA:
my doc is also going to help sort out some ideas with my mom for my shower since my mom usually always come to me for the creative thoughts. Those little extras go a long way down the road. Christine show this thread to your mom and there will be no more convincing!!!

i would love a DOC but i can't fit the extra cost into my budget. I believe exquisite affairs is offering a discount until october 31st. Their basic package is $650.

My mom convinced me I needed one.

I love my DOC she is awesome!

I did it because I want all my guests to be GUESTS and I've got a lot of little things going on at my wedding I don't want to be worried about.

It's well worth the expense for me... I don't want to stress about a thing that day.

Re: Those who booked a DOC

i had asked my hall about thier opinion of a DOC and they said that they only get in the way of the banquet manager...

Does a DOC and a banquet manager do the same thing at the reception?
