Those who have been to precana already?

Do we need to bring anything?

How do people normally dress? I assume casual /jeans/khakis...but i dont want to assume and look out of place

Anything I should know or be prepared for?

Going this Saturday!

I'd like to know too. I'm getting married 4/22 and they told me I couldn't do pre-cana more then 6 months before the wedding.

Has anyone else heard this?

I don't think you will need anything... just an open mind... Really, we did it and it was not bad at all, we kind of liked it. I just wore jeans and a regular top. At my pre-cana they supplied everything, food, supplies (like pen, folder, book and paper), beverages.... You'll be fine, don't worry about it!

No - we are doing it in October & our wedding is in July. There is a fall & spring session at our church and we got to choose which one we wanted to do. The rules may differ church to church possibly.

PRESHY-Melissa!

Glad I got to see you there, even though we didnt get to chat much! Maybe we can meet up somewhere in CT again and chat more!

What did you think of it???

Anyway- for all who may have been wondering how it was... lets just say, It was one day and we lived through it, besides being hot and sticky and me having either terrible allergies or a cold/sinus infection (i dont know what it is) IT DID NOT live up to my high expectations. I thought it would be different than it was. BUT, it was one day of my life and now its over ...

HI NICOLE- NICE TO MEET YOU! I WAS SO TIRED AND STICKY! I THOUGHT IT WAS NICE- I FEEL CLOSER TO FH -AND IT WAS SHORTER THAN I EXPECTED. HOWEVER, I WAS NOT A FAN OF THEM BEING SO ANTI BC PILL ETC. BUT I GUESS THATS WHAT WAS EXPECTED.
THE PRIEST I FOUND TO BE FUNNY.

AFTER THAT IS YOU FH NOT GOING TO GO OUT WITH HIS SINGLE FRIENDS ANYMORE?

YEA RIGHT!

Wow... I'm suprised they were so anti bcp's!!! At ours, they just recommended Natural Family Planning and made no mention of bc pills. Oh... sounds like you were both disappointed but I guess it varies from church to church. We actually thought ours was pretty good although it was 2 days. At ours, they mostly emphazed the importance of communication and it was more about making your relationship work through the years. Awww, well at least it's done and over and you girls can check it off the list (which is always a good thing!)

Re: Those who have been to precana already?

melissa- sounds like you enjoyed it more than me i feel like I am going to hell for sure! I didnt realize the church was so against in vitro...i disagree with so many things they were saying, and I found it hard to remain open minded, wasnt thrilled with it, BUT it was short than expected!

Novia- i heard so many great things from other people- you included- but i guess i went in with expectations that were too high... oh well...
