those who have done cruises....

I've never been on one before and I'm scared to try one for the honeymoon in case I am sea sick the whole time. What has everyone's experience been on a cruise?

TIA!!!

I have done two cruises. 1st was eastern carribbean and I didn't get sick. 2nd was western carribbean and FH was sick the whole week and I got sick 3 nights. Both times I went in early to mid january- not sure if time of year makes a difference on the waters. Also, the western caribbean one had a lot of places that didn't dock, the tendered- this is why FH got sick most of the time. They would just have you sit in the smaller boats for like half an hour rocking back and forth. Other than that we had like 15 foot swells. But on the other cruise it was fine every night.

I have always loved cruises. (I have been on about 10 cruises)

My experience has been nothing but good. However, lately there have been a lot of outbreaks so I am hestiate to book another cruise any time soon...

Bonine and antibacterial gel . . . . 2 things you shouldn't be without on a cruise.

Bonine definatly helped me when FH and I went to Bermuda on a cruise.

my suggestion is if you go, go a big ship with good stablization, get a room in the center of the ship and on one of the upper decks. That always helped me and drink plenty of water. FH and I were thinking about a cruise but knowing my FH he would have been sick the whole time so we will do that another time.

I have been on TWO cruises- and those 'ear patches' for motion sickness are THE BEST THINGS EVER INVENTED

I get car sick and boat sick a lot

but on the cruises, with these ear patches- it was great

FH and I booked a cruise for OCT. you just get a prescription from your doctor.

I have been on 3 cruises including our HM! Both my DH & I never got sick. We did hit some very rough waters on our HM with waves over 22 feet (leaving Puerto Rico to Bahamas) & both of us just needed to lay down!

Best bet is to get a room in midship, with either a window or balcony (so you can get some fresh air if needed) & try to stay on the upper decks. If you feel sick, you are suppose to go outside & get some fresh sea air (it helps). They also have the ear patches that I have heard wonders about! Drink tons of water
