Those who live with FH

Those who live with FH

Do you feel like a little robot by the end of the weekend? I'm exhausted! I try to get so much done at the house over the weekend that I feel like I'm someone mechanical.

Yesterday it felt like I was doing laundry all day. Add grocery shopping to that, another hour between being in the store and unpacking everything at home. It was my dad's birthday today so I made carrot cake muffins with cream cheese frosting for him yesterday.

FH likes to take grilled chicken to work so I usually try to make it and pack it on Sunday. Then I made lunch for myself for Monday and Tuesday. Tomorrow is someone at work's birthday and I'm the cake baker for all occasions so I made a chocolate chip cake with cannoli filling and chocolate ganache icing. Then cleaning everything! I'm exhausted!

Anyone else relate to this? I need another weekend after each weekend!

Yep, I am with you girl! Since we live in the city, I have to take the laundry around the corner, and I usually spend about 2-3 HOURS in the laudromat. Then I went food shopping, unpacked, then packed lunches for tomorrow. Then straightened up the apt. ALL while FH sat on the couch and watched football. Actually, to his credit, he did make a fabulous turkey chili that will last the week, so that makes this week's dinner a lot easier!!!

But seriously, the weekends can be just as hard as work weeks!

awww... doesn't FH help?? mine doesn't much... if he doesn't do something i throw a fit.. lol i make him fold the clothes after i wash it.. if he doesn't fold it.. i put the clean clothes all over his side of the bed so he gets the point... hahaha.... but yea it's hard to keep house and keep your relationship good... i go the the supermarket every week just to keep his fav ice cream stocked in the fridge... i hate vacumming omg i sooo know where your coming from.. cooking and everything... i wish there were more hours in the day...

yes! weekends are exhausting! saturday is laundry ( 1-2 loads, exlcuding sheets) , then clean bathroom, kitchen, vacuum, windex everything. Then its off to food shopping, sometimes we go to 2 supermarkets depending on sales, lol. Before you know it its evening and FH always likes to have a home cooked meal on weekends. Normally we used to go out for a semi cheap dinner on fri and sat nights before we got engaged, but just cant afford it now with all the saving for the wedding. Then on Sundays I have to cook a meal that Fh can take to work for dinner for mon-tues/weds since he works nights. Tonight After a long day of looking at a rh in the Bronx, then picking out our e-party cake in queens, then visiting fil's, I had to come home and cook chicken cutlets and make pasta and bake chicken parm for him for the week. Ughh Im so tired. I feel like I never get to relax anymore!

Am I the only one who doesn't really let FH help? I dont like the way he does things around the house. They don't look perfect like when I do them. Then I wind up undoing and redoing what he did. I'm slightly anal when it comes to cleanliness here.

same here!!! But fh always wants to help that it becomes annoying sometimes because im just going to wanna re-do whatever he does. He was totally getting in the way of me cooking tonight so I told him to sit down and watch tv lol. He def cant make our bed the right way, I guess I should let him help more though. I'll let him clean the toilet...haha

I only let FH do the dishes, and take care of our daughter, thats it. Once i told him to do clothes.....half of them came back wet..?? lol
Once i told him put the groceries away, the next day I couldnt find anything....I have a spot for everything in the cabinets and he put them away crazy ..so yeah that was the last time I send him to do anything. Now he just do the dishes and things w/ the baby...I figure he cant screw that up, although if I dont have my daughters clothes set out then he has her outside looking crazy and all mis-matched, and he cant do a simple ponytail for his life

I just always feel like the weekends go to fast.
We do our grocery shopping on Thursday nights, so we get that out of the way (plus there is no one shopping then so we're in and out in a half hour. If I had to shop on the weekends I might kill someone in the store). I have access to my parents washer and dryer during the week, so I try and do a few loads throughout the week.
I guess my advice is to try and get as much done during the week as you can, so you have time to enough your days off together.

I feel the same way as you all...we produce so much laundry and it never ends...BUT...Brad is always helping...we do food shopping together, we fold laundry together and we cook together...its very much an equal partnership...I came froma famly where mom did everything and that was NOT ok with me!

Well I dont offically live with Fh... but he's at my apartment every other night basically... so I go through all the same motions... and with a very demanding job... I am sooooooooo tired, whats wrose is I work 6 days, it makes it that much harder....

Re: Those who live with FH

FH helps me to. We have an agreement that whoever cooks, the other person loads the dishwasher. So since I always cook he always cleans up. And when its time to clean the apt he always cleans the bathroom. He also helps me lug the laundry down to my parents.

definately feel you!! sometimes i feel like we are married already and our friends that arent married that want to do things dont understand that I have to cook dinner and make him his lunch and cant trust him to do laundry or make the bed so I dont have time to go shopping or go to the gym more than i do already. its not just the weekends either its eveyday i feel like that ... and I hate even more when you go into work on your first day back after 2 days off and you say your tired and some stupid idiot says why you just had 2 days off what can you be so tired from!????!??!!

Oh and I had to post this too ... this is also why I havent been able to spend so much time on LIW because of all my 'chores' after work lol ... and I used to come on after he went to sleep and everything was done but he started saying I never come to bed with him anymore.. and I felt bad !

I know what you girls mean.... I am so stress I also go to school full time and work part time so I never have time for anything!!!! I dont remember the last time I had time to go to the hair salon and do everything without worrying about how long is going to take me b/c I have to do XYZ

I feel the same way. I like to do things myself, bc they get done so much faster and correctly BUT at the same time I get bitter about it. I hate when FH walks past things w/o doing them. If I ask him to do something he usually just does it...but I always have to ASK. He never just does things.
So frustrating!!!!!!

advice given to me by mothers i know & love: get him into the routine of helping (the right way) now because if you decide to have kids, the chores get a million times worse and you just end up hating life.

It is all 50-50 for me and FH. I work a more demanindg job then he does and he is always willing to pull his weight - no complaints, I am lucky.

But, I agree, never enough hours to get though the daily chores.

I feel the same!! By the time Monday comes I'm exhausted!! I feel like the cleaning and laundry never ends and it's only 2 of us with our little dog. I can't imagine how much more work it would be having kids!
