Those who live with FH

Original post by MrsDtoBe09

Do you feel like a little robot by the end of the weekend? I'm exhausted! I try to get so much done at the house over the weekend that I feel like I'm someone mechanical.

Yesterday it felt like I was doing laundry all day. Add grocery shopping to that, another hour between being in the store and unpacking everything at home. It was my dad's birthday today so I made carrot cake muffins with cream cheese frosting for him yesterday.

FH likes to take grilled chicken to work so I usually try to make it and pack it on Sunday. Then I made lunch for myself for Monday and Tuesday. Tomorrow is someone at work's birthday and I'm the cake baker for all occasions so I made a chocolate chip cake with cannoli filling and chocolate ganache icing. Then cleaning everything! I'm exhausted!

Anyone else relate to this? I need another weekend after each weekend!

OMG!!! I feel like all I do on the weekends is laundry....and Wed is my other big laundry day....I feel like a robot everyday...between getting lunches ready, cleaning, cooking, more cleaning...I never stop. Although i do have to say the FH has made an attempt to help out more so he has been doing the dishes and sweeping...and that helps! But I can so relate! This is one of the reasons why I dont want kids...can you imagine adding 2 more people to pick up after and cook for and wash for!!??

Am I the only one who doesn't really let FH help? I dont like the way he does things around the house. They don't look perfect like when I do them. Then I wind up undoing and redoing what he did. I'm slightly anal when it comes to cleanliness here.

advice given to me by mothers i know & love: get him into the routine of helping (the right way) now because if you decide to have kids, the chores get a million times worse and you just end up hating life.

A married friend of mine from work told me I have to teach him to do things the way I like. Honestly, FH does a lot. Especially because living here is more than just living in an apartment. He does all the work outside the house - shoveling in the winter, mowing the lawn and raking leaves and stuff... I'm very lucky to have him.

Before I leave the house in the morning I try to get the apt in order....I try to schedule things so that we have time to sit relax, watch tv or talk at the end of the night. FH gets home late so I have about 1 1/2 to make dinner., while I make dinner I throw a load of laundry in the washer....and I do my arm exercises while the food is cooking lol....I wash dishes as I go so I wont have a pile....after I eat. When he gets home I eat and then we hang out...take a walk or go to the gym together.

It works out--try it..but i do understand what you mean.

I feel like I can never get to it all, and then I feel bad and like i'm going to be a bad wife when I see the laundry pile up and the furniture dusty.
