whens the best time to go? do you make an apppointment? does she alter gowns as well? i need boobs for my dress too!!

They only alter items that you purchase in the shop. They don't take appointments. You put your name on a list and wait your turn, sometimes it's quick, other times you will be waiting for hours. It is totally worth it though. I would not go on a weekend. Go midweek, either right before they open or right before they close. I called once and they were able to tell me if the list was long. This was a Thurday afternoon, at about 3pm and there was only a 20 minute wait. I went on a Wednesday afternoon at the same time once and waited 2 hours though. It's hit or miss. Good luck!

I went on a Friday afternoon and waited about 30 minutes. It was definately worth it!

great! ive heard wonderful reviews. i bought a long line bra from VS and it cost 85 bucks! and i would like some more padding! i figure i can go to this place, buy one and have boobs sewn in for cheaper! i should bring my gown right? to try it all on?

That's rediculous! Mine from Mary's was only like $50 and that includes alterations. I personally would not bring my dress there. They say you should, but I wouldn't, not a wedding gown. It's a small place, and not that it's necessarily dirty, it's just not the type of place to bring your wedding gown. JMO

I just went this past Thursday and honestly I didn't understand the hype they get. I bought a long line bra for about $50 and had to wait 3 hours (yes 3 hours) for a 3 minute fitting. I could have went to Blums in Patchogue and got something alot quicker.

I went on a THURS and waited about 30 minutes. My bra cost $50 and it fit me like a glove. I thought it was well worth it.

I don't know if she will sew boobies into the dress. Lots of girls had their dresses with them. i think Mary will do whatever you want her to do.

Karen - I think all of the hype is that they do the alterations while you wait. If you are a typical size that you can buy in a store, then no, it may not be worth it. But, if you are a very difficult size (like I am) that bras are just not made in, then it is totally worth it. i also bought a regular bra there and they gave me the specifications of the alterations that I need. In the future, all i have to do is call them with those numbers and they will have the bras waiting for me for pickup already altered, no wait. Unfortunately, I can't walk into any store and just buy a bra that fits so it is so worth it to me.

She is on Woodbury Rod and yes, she has cinchy, things that you are looking for but I do agree that you might be able to get things at a department stare that are similar but it is nice to have it altered just for your body!!

hey Dani!!

I got my corsette from Mary's thanks to Helene...

DEF go during the week if your schedule permits.. I couldn't so I had to go on Saturday, MADHOUSE! I was there for 5 hours!!!!

they don't do dress alterations.. but I made her give me boobs! lol

just tell her that you want cleavage and to put alot of padding in!
