I have been sick for three weeks. As I sit here now I feel like someone has my head in a vice. My body aches, I have massive pain in my ears, and my chest feels tight. Bloodwork is fine, chest x-ray is fine, and first batch of antibiotics didn't work. Now i'm on penicillan. The only time my head dosen't hurt is when i'm lying down. I am easily exhausted.
Does anyone who has allergies suffer from symptoms like this? In the past 3 weeks i've worked a total of 5 days. (not in a row)
It's also affecting my ability to post!
Thanks everyone!

Re: THOSE WITH ALLERGIES PLEASE HELP!!
You sure it's allergies? It sounds like the flu!
I only get allergies in the spring, so I wish I could help you.
Feel better!

Re: THOSE WITH ALLERGIES PLEASE HELP!!
I got sick like this the day after my wedding - and I'm still getting over it!!!
The weather change in temps hasn't helped any, either!
Go to a local drugstore and get two things: 1. Throat Coat - it's an herbal tea being recommended by some medical digests to open your nasal cavities and air passages. 2. Air Borne - it's dissolvable in water and helps with congestion (nasal and chest)
I hope this helps! I was on 1 antibiotic, and 4 different meds to help me and I'm finishing the 4th as we speak

Re: THOSE WITH ALLERGIES PLEASE HELP!!
I took two rounds of antibiotics and my cough wouldn't go away (still won't... they thought I had pneumonia, but I don't).
They said normally they would put me on steroids, but that makes you gain weight, so they wouldn't do that to me right before the wedding (thank GOD!).
Also, maybe it's migraine related?
But, I agree with the other girls... it does sound most like the flu.
Feel better!

Re: THOSE WITH ALLERGIES PLEASE HELP!!
definitely sounds like a severe cold/flu. I was sick for a 2 week period with no voice and a severe cough. TheraFlu and a cocktail of everything I could think of helped lol. I think I took Dayquil, Nyquil, Tussinex with Codine (prescription), TheraFlu daytime and night time, Airborne and probably something else I can't remember...but I did finally get better....OH and I drank lots of teas and honey and when I couldn't bear the pain in my throat Chloroseptic Spray.

Also - DH and I took 2-4 of these a day to build up our immune system - it's called echinasia +Vit. C = it's a multi-vitamin supplement that we took and it helped DH stay healthy throughout all of this (except for a 3 day period he had a small fever), and it gave me the strength to get thru work.
I know you can get ALL of these at Walmart, some at CVS!

Re: THOSE WITH ALLERGIES PLEASE HELP!!
I hope you feel better Nic!!! Definitely let me know if your not up for Sunday
As for my allergies- I usually use claritin and a water based nasal spray (either Ocean or Ayre mist spray- no nasty after taste).....but this does sound like more than allergies....make sure to have some chicken soup and a hot toddy!! A hot toddy always makes me feel better, or at least a little drunk! It consists of: hot tea, lots of honey & lemon and some whiskey or brandy.....I think I could use one now!! Feel better!!

Re: THOSE WITH ALLERGIES PLEASE HELP!!
It sounds like a sinus infection to me...usually when my allergies get out of control I get a combo of sinus and ear infection..the only thing that helps is a double strand antibiotic. If what you are on isn't helping I would call your dr. back. Are you running a fevor?

I don't think it's allergies. You sound like you have a bad touch of the flu. You need to go back to the doctor, may be get a second opinion. God bless

Re: THOSE WITH ALLERGIES PLEASE HELP!!
I have been sick or whatever since my first week of student teaching, but now I'm starting to think that it's allergies. It has gotten so bad that I can't wear my contacts because my eyes become soooo red. It's horrible. I hope you feel better soon!

Re: THOSE WITH ALLERGIES PLEASE HELP!!
OMG!!!
I thought I was the only one. My allergies are the same why. I went for allery testing and I am SEVERELY allergic to trees, so I get this twice a year.
The only thing I can say, is take something like Sudafed or Claritin D (something with the decongestant), and aleve for the aches and pressure.
This too will pass in about another week or so.
FM me if you I can help any more

Re: THOSE WITH ALLERGIES PLEASE HELP!!
IF you think it might be your sinuses or you are very congested from whatever IT is the best thing for congestion I have found is called Mucinex. It doesn't just dry you up or make you sniffly..it's an expectorant so it actually breaks up and helps you get rid of everything. I got a bad sinus infection right after our HM and it lasted for about a month..this was the only thing that helped..not sure why my doctor waited for so long to mention it to me, lol!
