Those with living grandparents:

Those with living grandparents:

I have 1 set of living Grandparents, and we're very close.

I've ordered a corsage and bout for them, but they have a question re: attire.

Is it standard for Grandpa to wear a tux and Grandma to buy a MOB-like gown?

She likes this dress right now, in chocolate brown.

Thank you!
(I was trying to think of a special way to honor them at the wedding....they'll walk down the aisle ahead of everyone, I ordered a 1958 Rolls - the year they were married, and I think I'm going to do the anniversary dance. They've definitely been married the longest! It'll be 49 years this year.)

Yes, I think it's fine for them to get that dresses. Especially that you are so close to them. I think everything you are doing to honor them sounds wonderful. You are a very thoughtful girl.

ive got all 4 grandparents
yes the men will be in tuxes and the women in fancy MOB type dresses

Im getting them a town car to transport them to and from the wedding.

Im giving them corsages and bouts

'reserving' their seats for the ceremony with signs

I still have one of my grandmothers and so does FH. We are honoring them by having them walk down the aisle as part of the entrance and making a big introduction for them at the reception. I am not sure what either of them are wearing though. But I would say that they can wear whatever makes them comfortable.

I'm the oldest of 9 - I'm not the only grandchild, but I'm the first!

They're so excited. my grandpa adores FH, and my grandma cries everytime she sees us together.

They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary too! So exciting that they're still here to watch us go down the aisle. I think your g-parents will look fabulous all dressed up, so I say tell your G-ma to go for it!

I think it is absolutely acceptable for them to be dressed in tux/gown.

49 years?? How wonderful!

Hey Nicole...I just saw this post...

My grandma wore this dress and my grandpa wanted to wear a suit- he just doesnt like to wear tuxes.
(I love this whole page from my sister's album- it's all the ladies- my sisters, me, grandma and mom)

I only have one living grandma she's 91 and she means the world to both of us!!! She lives upstate (about 3 hrs away) and we are hoping she will be able to make the trip.... Either way...we will do something special for her!

Re: Those with living grandparents:

both my grandmother and FHs grandmother are still living. I'm very close with my grandmother; she lives with us and practically raised me as both of my parents worked and went to school. She's wearing a gown, and I also ordered her a corsage (orchids). Both grandmothers will be in the limo with our parents.

I have both grandmothers and one grandfather. He's not wearing a tux, but I got corsages for both the grandmothers and he'll get a corsage. FH just has his grandfather and step-grandmother (who no one likes!) but they'll get flowers too.

My mom doesn't want me to make a big deal out of the grandparents b/c it's the first wedding my grandmother will attend without my grandpa. But I think I want to have her walk down the aisle with one of my uncles, so she can feel special too.

My grandmother and my grandfathers wife will be dressed nice and most likely are going out to get something nice like MOG dresses. My grandfather will be in a nice suit and I will probably get him a nice tie to match
