several months ago, I purchased 2 comforters in King Size and found that I LOVEEEE how it fits on the queen bed. IT seems to look so much more covered and makes the bed look neater and more like those fortunoff displays. does anyone else do the same?
Im not looking forward to purchasing a really nice bedding set and being torn because its all in a set, and im going to have to buy things separately so i can have the king comforter with the queens sheets..
speaking of sheets. why dont they make MORE of them deep fitted?? every mattress out there seems to be SOO DEEPP and not many of the sheets seem to meet those needs..

We do the same thing. We have a queen sized bed with a king size comforter. Sooooo comfy and looks awesome. Real fluffy and such.
I have the same problem with not being able to find deep pockets. My pet peeve is when your sleeping and you hear that POP and the fitted sheet pops off the corner...soo annoying. I just bought a set of sheets from Target..the thread count wasnt too great but it was deep pockets and I love the set! I am going to go back to get more!

I do the same. A lot of the sets don't come with duvet covers so we buy those separately anyway. King is so much more than queen though...sometimes I wonder why we did it!

I have also believe it or not gotten some awesome sheets in Ditmars here in Astoria...in ABC...really nice quality for a cheaper price and lovely looking..dont know if you ever come to Astoria anymore.

I have the same problem with Queen sheets. I actually put a hole in one of my fitted sheets because I was pulling so hard to try to get it on the bed and I put my fingernail through it!!
I also hate that Queen comforters are so short on the sides. Why do they do that? I like my comforters on the long side cuz DH is a comforter thief. If they are too short I end up with nothing!!

I try to buy the deep pocket sheets only. I dont buy sheet sets b/c I never use the flat one and its a complete waste. So I like to buy things seperately. Ive never bought a King Size b/c I figured it would be way too big.
I want to buy a down comforter soon so I may have to break down and buy the King Size cause what you girls are saying make perfect sense. Thanks :D

We have a queen and use both king comforters and duvets for our down comforter.
I think the actual fit of a queen is for when you use a bed spread. Even my parents don't use a bed spread anymore!

There is not that many deep fitted sheets and even the deep pocket sheets dont really fit my double pilllow top matress..
I do the same with the king size comforter...

that's a good idea. I have a queen bed with a full/queen down comforter and duvet, and it looks ridiculous! It barely covers each side of my bed
I assumed the king would be way too big, but I'll have to try it out!
I find the sheets I buy fit my mattress fine, and it's a new thick one. I buy Wamsutta's sheets - 250 thread count and up.

And we have a deep mattress too. I got sheets by Sealy called Best Fit (I think I got them at BB&B). The fitted sheet works great, but the flat sheet still isn't quite wide enough. AND they only sell sheets in a set, and since I have a platform bed, I need to cover my box spring with a sheet, but the sheet set only comes with one flat and one fitted sheet. So it looks like I'm going to have to buy a whole new sheet set, just to get one sheet! (Can't really find a single fitted sheet anywhere to match this color). I think I'll buy the sheet set in a king next time....

We have a mattress that requires deep pocket sheets. At first I had a hard time finding some I liked. Marthat Stewart's regular fitted sheet fit over my mattress and they stay. I love her stuff for that!

I also have a deep mattress that requires special sheets. I always find them at Linens and Things or BBB. I use a King size comforter for my queen size bed.
good idea...maybe I should get a Cal King for our King bed?
a good place for deals in Macys.com and look in their sale section...I got a king sheet set (I don't use the flat sheet either...but you can't buy the fitted and pillowcases for this cheap separately) for $40!!!
it is a 230 count thread...but it feels so soft...its charter club...kensington? something with a K
but they have lots of deals usually

i have ripped apart a fitted sheet trying to get it to stay on our new mattress. so frustrating. deep sheets are tougher to find. not as much of a selection unfortunately.
has anyone tried calvin klein sheets on a think mattress?
good idea about the king comforter on a queen bed... i think i'll do that. more $$ though.

it's so funny you brought this up! when we registered at Fortunoff's we registered for queen sheets and a king-sized comforter. apparently this caused all sorts of issues with my guests who tried to buy me the queen comforter and fortunoff's kept insisting that was the wrong one. i guess that's why i didn't get any bedding at my shower!!
