Thought I might introduce myself...

Hi All,

My name is Renee and I am an Australian bride, getting married in NYC on May 1st!
I fell in love with New York when I was there about three years ago and after things just got to be too hard to organise here, we decided to do something different (at least different for Aussie brides, anyway) and head overseas - but we didn't want to do the ever popular island wedding that so many love here... (we aren't very beachy ppl!)
So NYC was it! I am very excited and really looking forward to spending the most memorable day of my life, in your great city!

I joined the board to get some ideas about your customs and traditions (I only just figured out what a tussy mussy was, yesterday! ) and also figure out which vendors are recommended by yourselves, as its very difficult to pick legit vendors over email.

I will add some photos later so you can put a face to the name!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and i hope you don't mind be crashing in on your boards, being a 'tourist' and all...

Thank you! The Waldorf was my dream that i really didn't think would work with the budget. But when you swap a 100ppl reception here to a 10 ppl one, it makes things alot easier to afford!
Not quite the full 'reception' version though, cause there is only a small group of us, so we have booked a private suite for the night and they will cater for us there.

Welcome and congratulations! You will find this site extremely helpful. I actually have a large bunch of Aussie relatives coming in for my wedding.

From one Newbie to another.............Welcome to New York & welcome to the boards. This site is awesome & everyone here is so frendly. I love N.Y.C. I go there as much as I can. I was in a friends wedding party two years ago, she did her photos in Central Park. If you are planning to do the same you need a premit to do wedding photography there. If you don't have one they will not let you in. Check with the NYC film commission for more info. Good luck & Congratulations!
