Mom's best friend's father was a culinary pastry chef and teacher (once worked for a president), he made my mothers cake for her wedding.
My moms friend was in the business too owning Green Mountain Chocolate in vermont *but soldit recently)
My mother really wanted him to make mine too. She spoke with him but he is older now and really not well or up to it.
But get this.... he called one of the chefs he taught who owns or works in a bakery on Long Island and he is going to make my cake for me... and my moms friends dad is going to pay for it as a wedding gift...
I couldnt believe it.. very exciting!!!

Congrats, what a great gift!!!
Next month i have to call to find out when to book an appointment bc the person i want to make my cake gets booked WAAAAY ahead of time and they said to do it at least 6 months in advance but I don't want to take chances lol
