Thought LIWers would like this...

The 'L I T T L E' things!

As you might know, the head of a company survived 9/11 because his son started kindergarten.

Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident.

One of them missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.

One's car wouldn't start.

One went back to answer the telephone.

One had a child that dawdled and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.

One couldn't get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot.
He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today.

Now when I am
stuck in traffic,
miss an elevator,
turn back to answer a ringing telephone...
all the little things that annoy me.
I think to myself,
this is exactly where
God wants me to be
at this very moment..

Next time your morning seems to be going wrong,
the children are slow getting dressed,
you can't seem to find the car keys,
you hit every traffic light,
don't get mad or frustrated;
God is at work watching over you.

May God continue to bless you
with all those annoying little things
and may you remember their possible purpose.

Pass this on to someone else, if you'd like.
There is NO LUCK attached.

It's so true though - I was in college at the time, and my roomie's Dad worked at the WTC. That morning, he FORGOT his monthly train pass (Metro North) and some hardass conductor wouldn't let it slide. He had to drive home to get his ticket, and wait for the next train....he was 1 hr late to work that day- Thank GOD.

My Dad left for work very early that morning - he had an 9am appt at the WTC. He drove all the way in (about 1.5 hours from my house), then got a call that the appt had to be cancelled because the guy he was meeting was going to be late that day, so Dad was all pissy that he drove in for nothing...
As soon as he got back to the LIE, he saw the horrible shadow of a plane overhead - he SAW THE CRASH in his rearview mirror I *truly* started believing in God that day. I didn't even know that my Dad had that appt, but like I said, I was in Albany at the time. As soon as I heard the news, I called my mother, 'cause I had a gut feeling that my Dad was 'too close for comfort'- (his job brings him all over LI and NYC)... and she told me the above story.

I still cry for all those who weren't as lucky as mine and Julia's Dads....

I have one to add!!!

My BMs uncle was spared. It was his turn to go into the office early, and his partner called to see if they could switch because he had something to do that evening. Well, as her uncle was driving in for the later shift, the attacks happened!

So sad, but so ironic..... unfortunately, my aunt wasn't as lucky

FH's childhood best friend's father took the day off to go fishing with his son. The rest of his office was at work early for a meeting, on the same floor that one of the planes hit. He went to almost 200 funerals
