they probably calculated it based on TOTAL cost (like if the wedding costs $30,000 and they have 100 guests, that comes out to $300 per person)

regardless, that's the worst thing i've ever heard of!!

If you need to tell people the amount in hopes of getting that back on a gift, you probably shouldn't be spending that much per plate lol.. I would kinda think spending $300 per guest, you don't need the money lol

usually i leave $300 to a wedding. so for a friend or an aquaintance i now have to leave $600!!! RIDICULOUS!!!!

i think she said it was on the bottom of everything, like if someone was requesting black tie...
and something to the effect of
'please note that the couple is paying 295 per guest for dinner service'

wow, I agree its tacky..but could the reason they did that was to say 'hey numbnuts invitees, we are paying almost $300 a plate so you better return that RSVP card so we don't waste our $$ on you!!!'
