So I had just gone to a fabulous wedding at the Jericho Terrace in the beautiful new Oak room for my friend's wedding!!! Well she basically booked the catering hall two months before her wedding, which was a last minute idea because they were given a very good price and the date was available...Well my question is, how many of you would do this...I am beginning to think this is not such a bad idea!!! :)

If you're flexibile on dates and planning on getting married off season, it could be a great idea. However spring-fall books up really fast on LI. Also - be prepared to get those invites out right away! If you work well under pressure - go for it. Just be prepared that you may not get your top choice of vendors.

If I wasn't to much of an organized control freak then I would go for it. This also wouldn't work for me because 80% of my family is from out of town (I'm from MD). It would work best for couples who have the majority of their guests in the area. I would def go to Michael's and purchase a DIY invitation kit and send them out ASAP.

Also if you aren't picky about who you want your vendors to be this is a great idea.

Kudos to your friend for being able to pull it off! That's amazing!

Scares the crap out of me tbh. I think about booking all of the vendors who will most likely not be available. If you can deal with the pressure than more power to you ;) good luck. Jericho Terrace was beautiful, food was amazing, just not in our budget!
