Thoughts on BM dress bustle?

This dress has a short train, currently bustled under.

Still waiting to hear from Tricia but I wanted thoughts on if I should change this under bustle to an over bustle....it's hard to see in the pics but you get the idea...Thanks!

IMO- I'm not a fan of bustling BM dresses. I had my BM's cut off the train on their dresses!

Beautiful dress! I would not suggest having a bustle on Bm dresses. I had one on one of mine and it kept on getting stepped on and ending breaking. I had to sew it back a few times. by the middle of the night there was not point in bustling. If you want the bustle i would recomend the under bustle.

They look really nice in the beginning of the day but by the end of the night they are destroyed!! I've seen it happen.

I chose not to have a bustle on a bm dress once... BIG MISTAKE...people kept stepping on my dress and 'the girls' almost made an appearance. I suggest the bustle..I like the under bustle! Good luck!

Thanks for all the thoughts! I like the under too but I am afraid it still hangs too much on the floor which I have seen with this particular skirt before at another wedding so I keep vacillating if changing it is better or just to keep as is-- since we are using the train for ceremony.

I kept the bustle on my girls dresses and had no issues what so ever with them, of course they had to carry their train but naturally this is waht you would do.

But to answer your question we did the over bustle and I bought them brooches to pin the bustle

Ok this just helped me a lot since I keep changing my mind...I think I'll keep the under bustle and buy a nice brooch and if it drags or drives me crazy I'll over bustle it.

THANKS all for your comments and suggestions!

Same here!!

I didn't want my girls to worry about tripping, or falling bustles, or any of the possible aggravation involved.

I say cut it off!!!

My BM had a short train and if they chose to get it bustled they could have... They actually looked really nice bustled, it was just one loop..
