Thoughts on DJ for engagement party
Re: Thoughts on DJ for engagement party
I had a DJ at mine, we had about 85 people, but it was at a VFW type of hall kind of, and there was a dance floor. We were so worried people wouldn't dance, and as soon as the music started we couldn't get people OFF the dance floor lol. If you can afford to have one I say why not, it adds less stress of worrying about whats on your iPod and making play lists and they can also announce things if you want them to. :)
Re: Thoughts on DJ for engagement party
If you have a friend who is really good with music and might want to partially DJ that might help you feel less stressed about not having someone MC, but if you aren't having a dance floor it could really cut your costs by not having to pay for a pro. Just my two cents :)
Re: Thoughts on DJ for engagement party
Is there enough room for people to dance? I;ve been to both kinds and either way it was fine. I think it's more about the people you are with.
Re: Thoughts on DJ for engagement party
I think some kind of backround music is absolutely necessary. I also had my e-party at a restaurant and we had about 75 people attend. I hired a jazz band (no singing) to play for the whole night. It was perfect.
Re: Thoughts on DJ for engagement party
If I had an engagement party I would definitely have a DJ. I would look on Craigslist and see if you can find an inexpensive one. There a re a lot of people who DJ as a side job for smaller parties.

I have a friend that DJ's on the side, and he does small parties like that. Not expensive either. FM if interested!
Re: Thoughts on DJ for engagement party
I did not have a dj since mine was at a park. I had a radio, but we turned it off because we had so much fun talking to each other.
Re: Thoughts on DJ for engagement party
We r having our engagement party at Sunday in a hall with a dance floor. At first I didn't want to spend the extra money for a dj but FH really wanted one so we r having one for our engagement party. By we also have a dj and we are having 100 people... If you r having it at a restaurant then maybe an iPod would be enough but if you have the extra money I say why not?
