Thoughts on short BM dresses

I should be working on finding vendors, but...

What do y'all think about tea lengh BM dresses when the BMs vary dramatically in height and size? The range will be from 5'10' size 20 to 4'11' size 2.

thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Re: Thoughts on short BM dresses

I had a summer outdoor wedding, and my girls' dresses were organza tea length. They looked great on everyone! They were watters & watters v-neck dresses in a pale pink with a thin fuchsia ribbon around the waist.

Re: Thoughts on short BM dresses

depends on the time of day and how formal the wedding is. JMO but i think that tea length are great for day weddings, and evening weddings that aren't black tie or black tie optional.

Also, my brother's fiance (hi Sarah!) chose really pretty tea length dresses for a Sunday afternoon wedding- i'm 5'1' and I thought it looked very nice.

Re: Thoughts on short BM dresses

My wedding is black tie and my girls are wearing tea length. I didn't find any other dresses I liked- and in the end, you can do whatever you want. The fabric is very rich- and the hemline itself is very elegant.. All the tops of the dresses are different.. but here is one so you can see where the dress falls and the hemline.

Re: Thoughts on short BM dresses

I really prefer that length -- I think more flattering to a wide range of body types. We are also a Sat night formal event so we are playing the field a bit as to final length choice.

I just went again to Jenny Yoo tonight with two more BM's. Two more girls down-- two very different body types-- flattering on everyone.

Re: Thoughts on short BM dresses

Talk to your bridal salon. At mine, when I mentioned doing tea length dresses, my consultant said that they make everyone's hem the same distance from the floor, so that the bottoms of the dresses line up for pictures.

The bm dresses I'm having are already tea length, but the girls are going to have them hemmed to more like just-below-the-knee. My wedding is a daytime in April, so I think the shorter length will look great.

Thanks so much -- I was concerned about the line of BM hems being skewed.

Re: Thoughts on short BM dresses

I really like the look of tea length. If I remember Watters & Watters had some very pretty ones!

Good LUCK!

Re: Thoughts on short BM dresses

I have 2 tea lenght dress (no BM) that I have worn to many Black tie events. As long as it isn't too short I certainly think it is acceptable.

Re: Thoughts on short BM dresses

I personally like tea length for summer weddings. I don't think May would be a bad time, but it can still be a little chilly in may.

Re: Thoughts on short BM dresses

I like them for summer/day time weddings.
I don't think they are formal enough for an evening wedding. - but that's JMO
It depends on the style of your wedding
My friend insisted on having 'Black Tie Optional' on her invitations, and then had us, the BP is short cocktail dresses.........didn't work very well !!
