FH and i are debating about transportation for our hotel guests. we can't decide which is better, 1 round trip via coach bus or having 2 to 3 trips via shuttle.
Normally, I'd say shuttle. But i've been to a few weddings where it took forever for the shuttle to get back to the hotel for the 2nd trip. And by that time, the number of guests waiting grew so much, that a bunch of people couldn't get on and had to wait for the 3rd trip!
But the coach bus means that everyone has to take it at the same time. Meaning those who want to leave the reception a bit early don't really have a choice.
What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance!

Re: thoughts please... shuttle or coach bus??
i agree- the timing could get weird with the shuttle, but what if someone misses the only coach bus?
that's a tough call. which option is cheaper for you?

Re: thoughts please... shuttle or coach bus??
I recently went to a wedding where we had the option of taking a coach bus, it really was so much easier and a lot of fun!!! Everyone was together and those who felt like they might have a time constraint either called a cab for themselves or arranged their own transportation... HTH!

Re: thoughts please... shuttle or coach bus??
I am having a limo for the parents, bridal party, me and my fiance. The rest of the guests are getting a shuttle. The shuttle fits like 14 and I am not having THAT many people stay at the hotel that they will be waiting to go back and forth. If I had more hotel guests, then I would prob get a coach.

Re: thoughts please... shuttle or coach bus??
I am doing a shuttle just based on price alone. I was able to get a shuttle for $300 to do as many trips as necessary to get people to/from the hotel/reception hall. It may not be ideal for people having to wait, but the quotes I received from coach buses were that they required a 4 or 5 hr minimum and it was over $100 per hour.

we are doing a shuttle simply because it comes free with our hotel LOL I'm not passing up free transportation for our guests!

Re: thoughts please... shuttle or coach bus??
I went to a wedding where there was a coach bus.. Everyone was able to ride it including the bride and groom.. The problem is that the wedding ended at 12:30 and we didn't leave the RH till about 1:15.. They literally had to wait for everyone to stagger out of the place.. It was fun for a little while everyone hanging out and stuff, but most people wanted to get back to the hotel and drink so they were seriously bummed waiting 45 on the bus
I chose to go with a 35 person shuttle through my limo company.. It is taking one trip about 15 minutes before the wedding ends, and another right after the wedding ends which FH and I will take.. It is also driving my parents back home, because they won't want to stay at the hotel.. I am hoping that it works out well.

Shuttle all the way!!! And for me it wasn't necessarily a cost thing because both the shuttle and a coach bus would have cost money.
The weddings that I have been to with a shuttle are soooo much easier. I have never had to wait and we knew that if we missed one shuttle we would be ok because it would come back for more people.
The one time I went to a wedding with a coach bus it arrived early and left early and FH and I missed it and we ended up having to drive to the RH! It was such a nightmare and there was nothing we could do about it because the coach bus made only 1 trip.
Our shuttle begins to take people from the hotel to the RH about 40-45 min before the ceremony and it will make as many trips as necessary. This is the same for the way home, so if older people want to leave early or someone gets sick the shuttle will be there waiting to take them back to the hotel.

thoughts please... shuttle or coach bus??
Camelot is using one of their buses for us and is driving hotel guests to the reception at 6:45, and then coming back to the reception every hour on the hour beginning at 10pm and ending at 12am. That way, nobody has to wait around wondering when the bus comes back, they know it will be there at 10pm, 11pm, and 12am

We are doing a coach bus... possible even 2, as we are having an after party and want to make sure our guests safely arrive there. My sister did a coach bus and it worked out perfectly. Roomy, not cramped and everyone was together... even the bride and groom! JMO

I'm trying to decide this too now. It's not that different in prices. I at the beginning thought coach but now I'm considering the 30 something passenger just because if people aren't ready
We are having between 50-75 out of town guests and the fh and I were plannig to take whatever back the shuttle or coach.
We will need multiple shuttle trips to go And back
But with the coah we may new 1 trip there and 2 back
