My florist told me to use silk, as real leaves will stain , so I am going to try to find them online.

You are using silk for throwing outside the church?

I think the first week in Oct. is still a little early for falling leaves . But I LOVE the idea!! I am sure you can use fake leaves!

you dont think that fake flowers are going to be hard to clean up? i know this sounds stupid but they could blow away and stuff...at least with pedals or real leafs if they blow away its not polluting. I would love to do the leaves...I just can't see my church going for it.

we are going to ask about doing leaves as well, but we are nov 11 so there will definitely be leaves around to be thrown! definitely ck with your church, silk will probably be very slippery, that is why we can do rose petals, they are afraid people will fall!!!

We threw leaves and it is definetly not too early to do it. We had fake leaves because they flew better then real leaves. We also had someone sweep up after they were thrown.

It looked so pretty

I was thinking about throwing fake leaves also. I found some nice ones for cheap at The Oriental Trading Company website. My church said if we were going to throw fake leaves we would have to have someone to sweep it up. So I haven't decided yet.

My niece is the flowergirl, but I've dubbed her the 'Leafgirl'. She will be throwing real leaves provided by the florist. Wearing a crown of leaves provided by the florist and leaves will be in her dress (fake ones).

We are not having anything thrown at us after the ceremony. We are getting married right at WM.

I found dried leaves on ebay.. I got them in the mail the other day they are soo pretty.. I was going to do it last year but never got the chance to.. They are pestiside free.. and i don't thinkk they will stain, since they arent fluid filled, and they will just blow away.. I have to speak with the church about it though.

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. My florist also told me that real leaves will stain beacoue they have to dye them in order for them to look 'pretty'. I went to look at some silk ones and they looked really fake so now I don't know what to do

Ours looked very real. Fake leaves don't fly at all. You have to really have a windy day for them to go anywhere.

We combined some fall colored rose petals also to make them fly better.

We also lined the church aisle with leaves.

Here are some pics of my wedding:
