Yep.... I am definitely marrying into a doo wop family! Unfortunately Richard passed away about a year ago but we talk about his shows all the time.

At his funeral all the acts were coming.... Johnny Mystro and the Brooklyn Bridge, etc.

We only have two songs picked out so far:
!) My song with FH: Cee-Lo Green 'Country Love' (which is funny because we both hate country, but its actually not country at all)
2) My song with FH's best man (he is one of my very best friends too): Lily Allen 'Fag Hag'

You have some good songs in their (I like the Queen idea for the bridal party, and I have always been a sucker for Maybe I'm amazed). For a first dance idea, can I suggest Billy Holiday's 'The Very thought of you', that was our runner up and it seems like what you are going for.

Oh wow, that is insane! Very nice to see people pay their respects as well. Fh's father was very talented!!

Me too, Im going to ask my cousin to sing it!

The only songs we've talked about is our first dance. FH mentioned 'stand by me' and I really like 'make you feel my love' by Adele.

We decided against doing official parent dances since they always make me really upset. My dad passed away and whenever I'm at a wedding and they announce father daughter dances, I get really emotional. I am thinking of dedicating a song to my FH and his mom, something fun that they know is theirs, but not announcing it like they typically do.

I love reading about everyone's ideas and thoughts...definitely some good choices! FH and I have talked about music but don't have any definite decisions yet. We do know some sons we would like to use....

Ceremony:
FH wants Canon in D played, I'm thinking for the BP procession.
Ava Maria, probably during communion

Reception:
Entrances: don't know yet, we have a list but probably won't decide till closer to the wedding
1st dance: Most likely will be You & I, by Michael Buble. It's special to us, and will be sung by a friend :)
Father/daughter: don't know, want my dad to pick this one
Mother/son: FH mentioned you raise me up, he likes josh groban

There are few songs I know I want incorporated into the reception:
You and Me- DMB
First Day of my Life- Bright eyes
might use these for photo montage or cake cutting

First Dance: Not sure yet, FSIL suggested Cross my Heart by George Straight. But we want to keep looking

Father Daughter Dance: I loved her first by Heartland

Mother Son Dance: His mom is picking something out
