Hey girls, I was told when booking my RH that Thursday ngihts were 'the new Friday' lol and that they were almost all booked already (end of Nov) for July of '07, so I booked it. But now, I feel like I'm the only one. I didn't have a problem with the Thursday thing, esp since most of our friends are either doctors and weekdays mean nothing to them or are teachers who are off for the summer... but I haven't seen anyone else on a Thursday! Am I the only one or are there other Thursday ngiht brides out there?!! I'm starting to get a little nervous

we almost did a thursday... i think it is a great idea....then the whole weekend will feel like one big party! we had some peer pressure from the parents so we made it for a saturday! (we have a bunch of out of towners who were unable to take too many days off) but I have heard thursday is going to be in day for a wedding!

Honestly, my brother did a thurs night wedding this past nov. before vets day and it was an inconvenience. I had to take off a day of work before a holiday and that is a no no b/c I am an untenured teacher. I think summer time would be much better (my mom tried to get him to do it over a holiday break but they didn't go for that!) They had a lot of people say no but they had a bunch that said yes. This was an orthodox wedding b/c my sister in law's family is orthodox. I personally wouldn't do it but I did consider it in the summer time before July 4th. If I wasn't in the wedding party I wouldn't have to take a day off from work and stuff so it would have been fine otherwise!

Being that its in the summer and some people have off anyway and it doesnt get dark until later I wouldnt worry about it too much.
What would the hours be?

just read in a modern bride i think in their 2006 list of things that thursdays were the new hottest nights for weddings!!
i'm a sunday night went through the whole nervous thing about people not going to show up and so on.. but its the summer and it gives people an excuse to take off!!

I guess I never answered this post before but im a thrusday night bride too. NOt only did I save money but it lowered the minimum enough that we could pick the RH we wanted and could not have made the min on otherwise.
As soon as we knew it was a thrusday we started spreading the word and wih so much notice no one had a problem including all of the OOT guests we thought would not come and are now from what I hear( invites have not gone out yet obviously) are all coming!

There is someone who has a wednesday night, she is getting married the wednesday before thanksgiving day. And i know i saw one or two thursdays on here

We were told that Thursday is the new Friday also....
We chose Sunday.... but either way, people are going to have to take off the next day!

I know this is an old thread, but this still applies.
I looked into a Thursday night wedding and a Wednesday night wedding (both were the nights before holidays) - they were MUCH cheaper, but our church will only perform wedding ceremonies on Fri, Sat, Sun.
It was important for us to get married in our home parish, so we went with the Friday night AFTER Thanksgiving.

My wedding is going to be on a Thursday night. In 2009 since July 4 falls on a Saturday, banks (where I work) will be observing it on Friday July 3. Hence Thursday, July 2, is sort of like a Friday night since most people have off the next day.

my sister works in a school that is mostly Orthodox Jewish teachers, and a bunch of the girls who she works with have been getting married recently, and every one of those weddings were on a thursday! since they are orthodox, they can not have a wedding from friday nite (the sabbath) until after the sun sets on saturday. (which in the summer, can be late and unpredictable.) so they tend to only have weddings on sunday or thursday---but majority do it on thursday.
i don't care what day of the week it is--if i'm invited, i'm going!
