If the price works for u, go for it. But personal opinion, ppl have work the next day and might be inclined not to come and/or drink, so that is my reason. But hey, they say thursday is like the new friday when it comes to weddings.

Re: Thursday weddings
i would still go to a friend's wedding regardless of the day, don't get me wrong ... BUT i would probably leave early and/or show up late ... it's difficult to take thursday AND friday off from work

ITA-I'd still go; i wouldn't say No just b/c of the day of the week; but i would probably have a hard time gettng there on time (depending on when it started) and would have to leave early; unless i took of the next day; but all your guests may not be able to do the same...

Re: Thursday weddings
Depending on how close I was to the couple I'd prob/most likely go... But I can guarantee you we'd be out as soon as I eat the filling out of my cake!

Re: Thursday weddings
Normally I'd be 100% ok with the idea b/c I have enough time that I would just take Friday off. But this year it'll be rough.
But overall I think it's a good idea. I'd take into consideration that you might have more no's though then the typically expected #.

yea-you'll have to take into account that some people (those with kids especially) just might not be able to make a thursday night wedding. Hopefully those would be the guests that you don't mind not being there...your close friends & family will make the effort

Re: Thursday weddings
I understand completely about the cost of weddings and how much easier it would be financially to have a Thursday wedding. Honestly, I'd probably moan and groan about it, but I'd still go. And depending on how close we were, I'd s*ck it up and spend the two vacation days on it!

Re: Thursday weddings
i think that the people who are truly close to you will come no matter what day or time it is...
my gf did a thurs wedding last year and there were no issues...everyone partied like it was a fri/sat...there wasn't an usual amount of ppl leaving early or late...and to be honest, when i look back on it, i rarely focus on the fact that it was a thursday
if it saves you a boatload of money...then go for it!

I would go, but I wouldn't be happy about it and I'd probably leave early to get a good nights sleep for work the next day.

Re: Thursday weddings
I am having a Thursday summer wedding, but my circumstances are a little bit unusual. First, I have a small guest list and a good percentage of those guests are either teachers or graduate students who are on vacation. The few who aren't in that camp have flexible enough jobs where they can either go in late the next morning or take the day off. I sent save the dates out 9 months early which I figure gives the people who might need to take the next day off plenty of time to make arrangments.

Re: Thursday weddings
I would go no matter what...but it might be harder for some ppl to make it on time or they may need to leave early dep. on circumstances (kids, work, etc). Regardless, it's nice that you are asking on behalf of your furture guests but I think you should do what's best for you and your FH and your future s. You can get a great deal for Thursday nights...and it's the same food, same service, just a diffferent day...when DH and I were looking at RHs two diffferent BMs told me that every single Thursday was booked for the summer. I say go for it

Re: Thursday weddings
i am having a thursday wedding. It is not necessarily cheaper, it depends on where you have it. I really wanted to get married at my RH but couldn't afford it on a weekend night . I am still paying more than other places charge for a Saturday night but it is all about what is important to you. The people who are important to you will come. I've been to Thursday night weddings and always had a great time. It's the people who are there not the night it is on.
