OH H*E*L*L NO
I totally think it's fine for him to have friends and see them, but to tell you you're not allowed to come is totally over the line and insane, and esp to chauffer her around. NOT OK. You're totally right...is this going to continue when you're married with kids? Very weird.

You are not wrong at all! I would feel the same exact way as you. I'm sure he would not appreciate it if the table was turned and it was you saying this to him ...
Hang in there, girl.

i don't think you're wrong and i dont understand why he won't allow you to come along. it's okay to have female friends but to just flat out say no like this is not right. i think it's a little weird too that he's driving her. she's a grown woman and she can take care of herself. i would sit down and talk to your FH about this and how you feel. sorry

IMO it is VERY inappropriate (both the brunch and the drive upstate) . you are his fiance and should be welcomed to come along with him to the brunch. what is his reasoning for you not being 'allowed' to come along?
you are def not wrong

You are NOT wrong.
AT ALL.
I think maybe he acts differently around her and probably doesn't want you to see him as this 'other person'. Sometimes the way my FH acts around different people makes me sick. I know he's being fake and I hate it. I feel like you shouldn't surround yourself with people who you can't be yourself with (well other than business people).
I think him flipping out and making you out to be this psycho person is not right, but he felt he had to defend what he's doing. That just means (to me) HE KNOWS he shouldn't do this and is trying to make YOU the bad guy. Ughh They do that all the time. It goes from you shouldn't be forbidden to go along to you don't trust him and now it's you're fault you had a fight.
Pick your battles. If this is something you feel very strong about, bring it up again. Tell him you don't feel comfortable with it and you wish he would respect your feelings on this matter. Try and be calm.. If he starts getting all crazy again - tell him you don't want to argue, you just want to talk and stop discussing it until he calms down. Then start again.
Hope you come to some sort of agreement soon

You are totally not wrong. First of all...a drink (alcohol) can lead to many many things. (not that I'm trying to put stuff in your head).
Second...you are going to be his wife, he should be open about you meeting his girlfriends. This whole situation only makes me think if his not hidding anything then what is the problem. WEIRD.
I say if he dosen't bring you along...don't let him go.

Re: need to vent - pls don't quote
I would NOT be OK with this and I know my FH would NEVER pull anything this. He and I both have zero contact with ex's. I would not be ok with him telling me I was not welcome somewhere period. But he and I are really on the same page when it comes to this sort of subject. Sorry you have to deal with this.. especially being an engaged woman.

you are NOT WRONG. at all. as in not one iota. if FH told me this i would flat out say no and if he truly wanted to go, then i would accompany him. if not, then its just not allowed. i kno wyou can't truly forbid someone to do something, but this would be an all out brawl with FH & I but i wouldn't let it go.. why would he jump and say you are not 'allowed' if he has nothing to hide, he should ask you to come and you can meet this person he has been friendly with. you are going to be his wife, no need to hide you from her.

Re: need to vent - pls don't quote
I think I'm a little old-fashioned when it comes to things like this, but my 'rule' is that if you wouldn't invite someone over for dinner with your significant other, then you shouldn't be hanging out with them.
Your FH / FW should be #1, and their being somewhere (in the car for example) should never get in the way of anything. It's not like it's a business meeting and you want to sit in the conference room.
Sorry, that's JMO. I know a lot of people are more liberal with having friends of the opposite sex, but I think they should only be people your FW/FH is comfortable with, knows, and would hang out with also.

So what if you're mean to HER. WHO The F*CK is she? You're the one who matters.

ITA... YOU are the ONLY female opinion that matters (besides mom maybe), and anyone who says that's wrong can go screw.

I think it's weird he won't let you come. Like the brunch is whatever but the 6 hour drive alone? Sorry but no

You aren't wrong. You have to go with your gut on this one. You should come first. Just make sure you are calm when you bring this up to him.

Ummmm No , this would not be aloud! what if they go to brunch but then you drive with them upstate. i definitely would be too happy about him driving for a few hours with her. And i would be pissed off at her too for screwing him like that!
