Tie or Bow-tie for the guys

Tie or Bow-tie for the guys

I was thinking tie for the guys the whole time and then FH asked if he was wearing a bow-tie. I made fun of him a little and said bow-ties remind me of 'The Wedding singer' but he seriously wants me to at least consider it. He thinks ties with tuxes are informal. I tried to show him tons of pics from all the reviews, showing the grooms and guys wearing ties but he wasn't convinced.

i'm doing tie. i'm not a huge fan of bow-ties and it seems very formal to me and we aren't doing a 'formal' wedding.

i don't think tie's are informal. mine are a little less formal because we are doing brown tuxes.

We have having long ties. FH really wants them, he doesn't like bow ties. I don't think they are informal, we are having a formal wedding. I think they look so classy.

We're doing ties, and our wedding will be formal. I don't think it's bad.

bow ties are not considered modern or 'in' anymore. most everyone wears ties now.

FH actually wanted the black onynex...but they don't do that anymore...so we are settling with just ties... lol

This is part of FH's argument. We are getting married on the beach but I told him I am still wearing a traditional formal wedding dress. He thinks (not me) that a bow-tie is more formal and if I am wearing a formal wedding dress he should wear a bow-tie.
At least now I can show him this and make him see people don't do bow-ties much anymore.

Oh and i WISH we could do brown tuxes. He nixed that idea before the words were even out of my mouth.
