Timber Point Golf & Country Club

Original post by gilgo31

I am having my reception at Timber Point in Great River. I love the location (and the view of the bay), but I'm a little concerned about the food quality. I went to a tasting 2 weeks ago and some of the appetizers tasted rather bland. Is anyone else having a reception there (my wedding is June 12, 2004), or has anyone else had a reception there? Any problems with service? It seems great, but I guess I'm looking for reassurance. Thanks.

Ok...I thought you meant a decorating idea...DUH. Can't wait to see pics of buckets...what do you plan to do with them?

I like the aisle pic, but don't think it would work for an indoor wedding during the day.... I like it though!!

I signed up for the Illuminations catalog (candles and stuff) for some ideas....and will start looking at Michael's for ideas for candle gardens.

I went to a friends wedding there and everything was great, I didn't notice anything being balnd, but I am a vegetarian, so I couldn't taste everything.

Thanks - I'm glad you liked it. This is all about reassurance for me.

My SIL got married there June 12, 1999!
Food was great! Please be careful with one of the house photographers that she used. FM if you would like to know who.

I believe Smooch had her reception there. Do a search for her name...

Wow, 5 years to the day! Sounds like a good omen. Actually I chose not to use either of the house photographers and found my own. One of them was unavailable anyway, but the other one was very imposing and pushy and we went to meet him at his house and his bathroom was filthy.

Haven't been on the boards because I've been so busy with school and work. Did you still want to know about my experience with TPCC? (good and bad things to say...)

I was at my cousin's wedding at TP in June of '02 & the food was absolutly amazing--get the chicken stuffed with spinach & wrapped in puff pastry--it was out of this world!! My fiance is a chef & he was raving about the food for weeks. Have a great time there--the service was excellent as well. Wish you a great time at your wedding!

I saw that recently someone wrote that they have positive and negative to say so now I'm really curious about the negative!! I really love it but of course want to hear any feedback that I can! Thanks!!

Re: Timber Point Golf & Country Club

who wrote there were positives and negatives? The only negative feedback I read was that the vegetarian dish someone ordered (penne a la vodka) was still made with the meat when she specifically asked for Vegetarian!! Other than that..no bad things.....the renovations should be done soon also!!!

I have an appointment this friday with TP. Would any of you mind sharing how much it is? I was either looking at a saturday night or a sunday night in october. Also is there a minimum? I plan to have about 125-150.

Re: Timber Point Golf & Country Club

I think October is in the $60-$75 range...I'm having my wedding on March 6th and paying $53 pp plus tax and 18% service charge. I guaranteed 135 people and Ben threw in a choice of one of the upgrades for us. Whatever you do, do NOT deal with Lenore. You want to deal with Ben or Michael Lessing or there is a new girl named April (she's a maitre'd trying her hand in sales...super nice).
BRING A CAMERA....the renovations had begun on 1/26, so you'll probably be seeing the NEW ROOM!!! You are too lucky!!!

Good Luck divabride....I'm sure you'll love it!! Feel free to ask any questions

Re: Timber Point Golf & Country Club

Yay!! Im really excited to hear that they are doing renovations. I read before that another bride is getting married in Amityville, me too!!! The only thing Im worried about is getting Lenore. Should I call now and specifically ask for someone?

Re: Timber Point Golf & Country Club

divabride, your wedding day is the same as mine just a year later !!!

Listen to me and btryflygrl, do not interview with Lenore. Request either Ben or Michael.
I had a bad experience with Lenore and now I only deal with Ben or Michael. Ihave talked to April on the phone and she seems really good too. After I talked to her, Michael called me right back.

I am really excited about the renovations, I can't wait to see them.

If you have any questions, please feel free to FM me anytime.
