Timber point! Help!
Hey guys, so timber point is one of the venues in my top 3 and I was wondering if anyone can give me feedback if you have attended a wedding there. I got an email telling me that although the venue was really pretty that the service was horrible and food was served cold and slow to come out. Not going to lie that broke my heart a little lol. Any and all good or bad feedback is appreciated!!!

Timber point! Help!
My coworker got married there in September 2013 and it was a beautiful wedding! I am getting married at Three Village Inn (which is also a Lessings venue) and I'm a big fan of all their venues. My MOH got married at Smithtown landing country club and it was fantastic as well. But Timber Point was beautiful, it was one of our venues to look at but my heart was set on 3VI.

I don't have personal experience with Timber Point, my venue is also a Lessings venue, The Mansion at West Sayville and I will share this story with you. About two weeks ago I went to a showcase at my venue where there was vendors and a food tasting. I have already tried the food and enjoyed it, but as I was walking by one of the tables I heard a woman say to her family 'Well now you know why the place is so cheap the food is terrible'. It kinda upset me at first because I thought well crap what if one of my guests ends up thinking that! But honestly, at the end of the day, to me what matters is what my fiance and I think/feel. Everyone will find something to complain about and everyone has different tastes.. I think it's important to determine what you want from your venue. For me, I was looking for something that was not a traditional venue and had more of a vintage/mansion vibe at a reasonable price.I would continue to read reviews about the place and if it's the venue you really have your heart set on I wouldn't let one bad experience override it. I found when looking for reviews from a guest perspective, Yelp was helpful, less brides and more people who have actually been there.

I completely agree. If you let too many people's opinions get into your head, you'll drive yourself insane. Even going on yelp was overwhelming for me since there are mixed reviews about my venue's food. Unfortunately there will always be people who wont like the food for this reason or that reason and the ones who don't are usually the picky annoying ones who are gonna let their voice be heard. Go with your gut and don't let anyone's opinions influence you except yours and your fiancé's. Hope this helps!

Just went to a wedding there in July. We had a great time! Food was yummy too! As far as I know the bride had no problems with them

It was a great and beautiful venue however, when I went to a wedding there in the summer it rained and everyone tried cramming into their small cocktail hour room and it got overwhelming. Food was good! You will know which is the right venue, once if saw mine, I knew it and I saw at least 15 by then. Good luck and happy planning!Welcome New Vendors
