I'm starting to 2nd guess myself....My church starts at 4:30pm in Lindenhurst and then my CH is at 7pm at CB. I am not having a full mass just a ceremony so I am guessing that the entire church and we should be leaving the church no later than 5:15ish. (Am I estimating wrong?) I don't know if that leaves enough time for pictures...how long do you girls have between your church and CH? I also don't want to see FH before the church so I am unsure if I should call the church and see if we can make it earlier. My problem is that when I went to speak with the priest he gave me the option of 3 or 4:30. Do you think 3 is ok or is that to much of a gap?

dont forget that your receiving line will take up time. If you are skipping one then that fine (im doing that) but if not it could take up to another 30mins!!!
a long line of people wishing you well and saying how lovely everything was.... it's time consuming
go for 3pm... you'd rather have a gap for pictures, then have a rushed photo session :(

Re: Time between Church and CH
I'm having a full mass that starts at 3pm. I then want to go to Northport Harbor for pictures, and then head to HWC to take pictures on the golf course. My BM told me that she thought I was cutting it close with a 7pm cocktail hour (I want to attend the entire thing) and asked me to push the CH start time to 7:30pm. I think if you are doing just a ceremony you should be fine, though.

we are doing the exact same thing - though we are having a full mass. I estimated (with the receiving line and a few pics at the church) for us to be ready to go at 4:30-4:45ish. BP will then hop into the partybus to take pics at a separate location near the church and then we're off to get to the RH by 6:15 for pics with immediate family.

Re: Time between Church and CH
Im freaking out about this.. Well my momzilla is.
My church is at 1, reception is at 5:30 .. problem is No one lives near the churh or the reception. My mom wants her family to come to the church but they are not going to drive an hour to the church, an hour home, and then an hour back to the reception.
Does anyone know of a place they can go in between if they dont get hotels??
My RH will not house them .
What do i do?

Re: Time between Church and CH
Church is at 3, full mass.. then cocktail hour is at 7... We are not stopping anywhere for pictures anymore, just going straight to the RH cause they have a nice area to take pics. I was too worried about being rushed and not having time for pics if we stopped (it would have been old westbury gardens).. Now that we decided to go straight there, I'm still a bit worried about having enough time at my RH for pictures.. My trip is also from commack to new hyde park which is 25-30 mins without traffic.. worried the most that the church and receicving line will take forever and we won't be out of there till 430 or later

I'd go with the 3pm church if you still can.. Last thing you want is to be rushed!

Re: Time between Church and CH
Thank you girls so much! You guys confirmed my decision. I am going to call my church tomorrow and hope that the 3 spot is still open. I want to go to my CH so this will leave me plenty time I think to take pictures and get to our PARTY! lol

Re: Time between Church and CH
That is fine plus I believe that CB offers a hospitality hour at least maybe longer than an hour. I think guests can go there and get drinks and some munchies before CH

Re: Time between Church and CH
My church is at 2 in Queens and then my CH starts at 6:30 in Woodbury. We left a lot of time in between because they're pretty far away from each other and we want plenty of time for pictures before the CH.
