time for photos???

how much time should i allow for photos??? I am planning on having the church ceremony at 4pm in westbury on a friday in sept. Distance between church and venue is about 15 min. We will be taking most of the photos at the venue- De Seversky in Old Westbury. Cocktail hour will start at 7pm?

Is this enough time or should i change the church time to 330pm????

I would talk to your photographer and see what they say (if you have one already). And I think it also depends on how big your families and WP are. More people = more time.

Although, the other thing to think about is what the rest of your guest are going to do while they are waiting for the CH to start.

I would ask your photographer b/c with my church it starts at 11 and my cocktail hour starts at 1 so i really dont have anytime at all..but when i talked to him about it he made me feel that it was going to be okay to get the pictures that we need and still make the cocktail hour too...i would just talk to him/her about it and explain if there would be enough time

your set up is similar to mine. i didnt consult with my photographer before booking the church and hall. we're getting married at 2 pm in glen cove, and our reception (deseversky) will begin at 6 pm on a friday night as well. i figured that was more than enough time.

Depends... what time is your ceremony and what time does your reception end...

i did 10 hours and it wasnt enough...

as of now ceremony starts 4 pm will prob be about 40 min- not doing full mass. Reception goes from 7-1230. I have spoken to a few photographers and they said my current schdule is fine, but i think i may go ahead and move the ceremony to 330 just to give myself extra time just in case. I really dont want to to feel rushed or stressed, i want to enjoy the day.

Our ceremony started at 2:00pm and ended (after receiving line) at around 3:15pm. We had just enough time to take photos at the church, go back to the hotel so I could freshen up (15 min drive church to hotel), and then get to the RH to take pics (5 min drive hotel to RH). The CH started at 7, and we were able to get into the CH room for the family, BP, and our ourselves just before 7.

We did take a TON of pictures at the RH though.
