time off from work

time off from work

what are you girls planning on doing about work?

how much time are you taking off?

my boss is giving me a hard time about wanting to take 4 weeks off

I want the week before off, the week of and then 2 weeks for the HM

I only work 3 days a week, 3 12 hour shifts...so its like im taking 20 days off! its only 12 days, probably less bc of the way the schedule works

Im seriously about to flip out on her, it's ridiculous...like do these jobs not understand that our lives do not revolve around them?

I only get married once and I don't need the stress of work getting in my way...UGH!!!! this is the 3rd convo I have had with her about and everytime she starts it with, 'you know you are not takign a month off right?'

she said well maybe you can come and work one day each week..UMMMM really? you want me to fly in from hawaii when im away too??

Ugh, sorry to hear, Hopefully they work everything out with you. I am taking 3 weeks off. I am taking 2 days off 2 weeks before the wedding cause my bms are having the bachelorette party in the Virgin Islands so we are leaving on Thursday morning and coming back Sunday night, Then I am taking 3 days off before the wedding and 2 weeks off for the HM. I was surprised when my supervisor told me that I should take the entire week off before the wedding cause I would need it ( She got married at JT last year) I think she just does not want to hear my big mouth, so she is willing to give me whatever I want and more.

Re: time off from work

I may take 2 days off before the wedding weekend, and then 2 weeks for the HM.

Unfortunately, I can't take any more time off than that because of my busy work schedule.

Ugh...tell me about the 12 hr shifts. FH and I are both RN's. I am only working per diem right now at 2 different hospitals, so time off is not an issue for me.

FH wants 3 weeks off, but one of the girls he works with on his unit is getting married 2 days before us. He had to write a letter to the director of nursing about 1 month ago, and so did the other girl, both saying that they need 3 weeks off at the same time. HOPEFULLY they will get granted the time off, otherwise I have no idea what we are going to do!

But seriously, isn't that what per diem people are for? Filling in schedule gaps?

I am a teacher and getting married in July. I will probably not teach summer school this year for my sanity prior.

I am taking one day before the wedding, 2 weeks for the honeymoon, and then one extra day to recover after our honeymoon. Hopefully one day before the wedding is enough!

taking off 2 days before the wedding. then prob a week and a half after to cover the HM. I would love to, and could take as much time as i want, but the population i work for needs me :(

Re: time off from work

I only get 10 days vacation and 4 days sick...

So I'm probably going to use all of it for the HM and 2-3 days in July to fly home for my shower and my parents anniversary party...

since I'm a teacher, I'll be taking the winter break (1 week) plus another week of personal days, I still have to ask my principal about this

Re: time off from work

I'm taking a few days off before the wedding, and we aren't going on a honeymoon right away so probably about a week in total. I only get 2 weeks of vacation a year anyway and I'd rather have a job to come back to than take too much time off

I'm doing the same thing but I will have enough paid time off to get at least 2 out of the 3 weeks paid!
