my boss is giving me a hard time about wanting to take 4 weeks off
I want the week before off, the week of and then 2 weeks for the HM
I only work 3 days a week, 3 12 hour shifts...so its like im taking 20 days off! its only 12 days, probably less bc of the way the schedule works
Im seriously about to flip out on her, it's ridiculous...like do these jobs not understand that our lives do not revolve around them?
I only get married once and I don't need the stress of work getting in my way...UGH!!!! this is the 3rd convo I have had with her about and everytime she starts it with, 'you know you are not takign a month off right?'
she said well maybe you can come and work one day each week..UMMMM really? you want me to fly in from hawaii when im away too??
Your boss needs to realize that this is your wedding and your honeymoon is a once-in-a-lifetime thing! Sounds like she needs to get laid!!!!!!!! I am taking 15 days off and if I get **** for it....Ill just plain call out sick. lol Good luck girl.

Re: time off from work
I'm taking 2-3 days before and I have the whole week of my HM off already (school is closed) plus maybe one other day. I have 50 plus sick days but technically the school only has to let me take one for the wedding.

since I'm a teacher, I'll be taking the winter break (1 week) plus another week of personal days, I still have to ask my principal about this
Wow! Our contract specifically says one day, you're lucky

I am a Speech Pathologist at special ed high school but I work as contractor through an agency. I had scheduled the wedding for the first Friday after summer school ends so I won't have to take anytime off ahead of time. I think with the honey moon and all I should still be able to be ready for the 2011-2012 school year when the students come back after Labor Day.

what are you girls planning on doing about work?
how much time are you taking off?

i was working last night so i couldn't respond but THIS!!!!! is so true! she hasn't had any in years!!!!!
I just don't know how to approach this??!!! It's like THEY need me...I do not need them!!!!
I can get a job anywhere! They have been trying to find fill a full time position for like 2 years now and can't fill it...I don't care what she may think I have no intention of being there for at least 3 weeks.
Last night before she left, she goes 'OH Jenni is mad at me, look at that face she's pissed because she's not getting a month off.'
who says that??!!! in front of everyone????
the other things is FH and I may be moving to the city this summer, which means I would be leaving my job anyway....so Im trying not to get too stressed bc this may be a complete non issue if I leave
thx for listening girls

I wanna take 3 weeks. I don't think they can stop me. if I have the PTO accumulated, I can take it.
They are pretty flexible with that here.
one guy was took off for 3 months when he got married to travel europe. It wasn't all paid for but they still approved it

i have soooo much PTO! will have even more by the time the wedding rolls around
one of the doctors took almost 2 months off to travel europe!!!!!
I don't understand why it is a big deal, If I am requesting it in advance, MONTHS in advance why do you have to give me a hard time?
is it jealousy, female, estrogen thing ? or is it like I want to be a boss so Im going to say no just so I can be a big bad boss??
ughhhhhhhhhhhh

Re: time off from work
I am planning on taking off Thursday and Friday before the wedding and then Mon-Wed after the wedding. I am going to be using most of my vacation time next summer for FH's cousin's wedding (2 1/2 weeks) so I have a little time to take off for the wedding. I may even have to use a few sick days here and there (thank god they roll over!).

Re: time off from work
I save one week vacation from this year.. So for the year I technically have 4 weeks vacay plus 4 floating holidays and sick.. I am only using 2 days before wedding, the week of honeymoon and a day after we come back.So basically 2 weeks. FH is going to work for 2 days between honeymoon and wedding since we arent going for 5 days and his time off is unpaid.

I'm going to take two weeks off after the wedding. Maybe a day or two the week before (our wedding's on a Sunday).

Re: time off from work
I'm taking two days before my wedding, two weeks and two more days. Since I'm going to Europe I need the days to recoop. So total is two weeks and 4 days...my boss would not let me take more than that I'm sure.
