Time on invites
What time did you put on your invitations? Exact time that ceremony began, or a half-hour before to avoid late-comers?I originally was planning to do a half-hour before like my BM suggested. But I know, as a guest, I always arrive before the time on the invitation, and I don't want so many people there way too early when I'm still doing my first-look photos at the venue.
What do you think?

we got married at the RH and I put 15 minutes before the start time. Just noticed you're getting married at the Watermill, they had a room set up for guests to wait in with drinks if your ceremony is there also.

Does your venue do hospitality? We did 30 minutes prior to our actual starting time because our venue does a hospitality setup. Guests will be served champagne and light passed foods and we are having our ceremony musician play for this 30 minutes as well. The guests can get settled, socialize and slowly make their way to their seats while being comfortable. They will hardly notice the 30 minute buffer.

My sister got married in a church and did 15 minutes early. It was perfect.

I put the actual start time because I didn't request hospitality hour (i'm not even sure if my venue does it). If people show up late then they will just miss the ceremony. If you don't want people to show up during your photos at the venue then I would suggest not including an earlier start time. Remember there will be some people that may show up before the time listed on your invitation.

I put the exact time. We have about 3 hours in between and the venue is down the block. I felt bad for people who are on time to be wasting their time.
