I really don't understand how A VENDOR can be upset with you when you want them to do 10 or 15 different revisions to your invitations. I feel like until something is to your liking, no MATTER HOW MANY TIMES IT MAY TAKE, they should accomdate you. I am paying with my HARD EARN Money, IN A RECESSION AM I WRONG FOR WANTING THAT?

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
Hey, you're paying for a service. If you don't get what you want to pay for, then you can go somewhere else. 10-15 times may be excessive, but thats why they charge a fee related to the amount of work they put in.

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
I had over 20 changes to mine. But that is because the lady who did my invites was kind of an idiot. My final result was wrong too. Who are you using?

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
i agree with your frustrations but at the same time i can see the vendors point of view. i would guess you havent given them one penny yet towards their services...the vendor may feel that they are doing all this work for you and in the end you dont use them and they just wasted a lot of time. if you are paying them for design work than that is completely different and they should redo it as many times as you want!

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
call me crazy but if i had to revise someone's invitations 15 times i'd be angry too.
imo if there are things that need changing, you address them in the first revision. if there are things after that that you think you'd like differently, then change them. but more than 5 or 6 revisions is a little excessive imo.
eta: if it's their fault, state your concerns CLEARLY and CONCISELY and tell them that this is their last chance at making it right or you're going elsewhere. if it's things that you're changing based on changing colors, thinking you'd like something different then that's your fault and they don't really HAVE to change it without charging you.

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
i'm a designer, and i've done wedding invitations and if i had to do that many revisions the client would stop being worth it. you can't push them because they will stop caring about your project EVEN THOUGH you are paying. respect has to come on both ends.

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
Sometimes the designers don't completely get what you are looking for and they send you over what 'they' think is what you want. If this is the case you should be able to have as many revisions as you need... It is your money being spent on the most impt day of your life. 15 revisions seem a bit much to me, but if that's what it takes so be it...

why has it taken so many revisions? are you telling her clearly what you want? do you have a know what your vision is?

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
thank you ladies. I understand everyone's opinion. But it wasn't 15 times, but it was around 10 times. But to be honest, I believe the invitations is the first impression of your wedding, so I want it to be perfect. I did pay half of the money to the company. I know I am not the only bride, but I am not going to agree with everything because I think I am wasting someone's time. I believe I should get what I want until I am happy. I don't want to be consider a bridezilla. Because any other time, I am so passive when it comes to things, but my FH says I need stand up and more aggressive.

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
Also I agree with the respect on both parts, But sometimes, it take a couple of revisions for someone to get your vision. Sometimes there is a miscommunication, and a designer will try to push their vision on you.

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
I understand; while it may be annoying or w/e for the designer I agree that she should keep at it until you are happy. It shouldn't take her 10 times to get it right! Hope it all works out for you in the end

i agree as well, if they make the errors its one thing, and they should correct as many times as needed,
but if you keep changing your mind, they have a right to charge you, or push you off because its taking up their time that could be used on other clients.

AMEN! 15 Changes on an invitation???? Are they clueless? Or maybe you can't make up your mind. If you can't make up your mind don't vent & rave about them.......simply make up your mind girl!

Re: TIME TO VENT about a VENDOR
I think it's depends what the revisions are. If it's 10-15 TOTALLY different invites then yes, I do think that's excessive. At that point it seems to be a problem in communication and perhaps showing an example of what you would like might help.

At some point revisions eat up the profit. I would try to make your vision and needs as clear as possible.

I think maybe if you had to have your invite revised 10 times you should try elsewhere. Maybe that vendor just doesn't understand your vision!
